Welcome, Plustek has bundled a fully licensed SilverFast® depending on the OpticFilm model plustek.com/us....
In this new tutorial episode, we're scanning slides with SilverFast 9 and the Plustek OpticFilm series. This is the longer version with an extended overview of the interface in SilverFast 9. Enjoy!

Great program. Purchased ver 8 Ai studio but had to dump it because Epson could not repair my V750 scanner (no spares)which had very little use furious with Epson. So will now have buy another scanner which appears to be difficult now. Doubt I could afford Silverfish again as is linked to the brand of scanner and won’t buy Epson again. But would certainly recommend Silverfast.

I need to batch scan, and the interface is weird. I will not be doing multiscan, but the dust removal is good... I just want to advance a slide and press a button and move on. I am willing to collor correct in another program

Very interesting. Would it be possible that over time this Silver Fast program could perform the same lint and vertical stripe cleaning processes on mp4 videos, since these have already been previously scanned and subsequently destroyed when converted to mp4 videos? Thank you!

I don't plan on printing my slides, I want the highest quality possible scans. From what I've seen so far that's 48 bit color depth, saved in TIFF format. How do I set the software to get the 7,200 PPI-without caring about output size?

If you are scanning to drop into lightroom / Photoshop to do corrections, do you want to scan at 48 bit HDR RAW to get the most information? If not what gets the most information into the TIFF file?

@davidkipperman5218 Sorry for my slow response. In principle yes, scanning in RAW will bring the maximum information into a Tiff file. To also capture the most information from your original (and bring it into your file) you should also have MultiExposure active. If the scanner can't see, it won't be in the file. - Jan

I use a Plustek 8200i with SilverFast 9 for scanning negatives with great results. However, I am trying to scan my first roll of mounted slides (Ektachrome E100) and the scans are not sharp. I can tell by looking at the slides that the shots are in focus and am wondering what I'm doing wrong. I'm using the same resolution settings as I do with negatives, which all scan sharp. I look forward to your thoughts.

@muleschooler Since the scanner is fixfocus the only issue I can come up with at the moment is how the mounted slide is inserted into the holder? Somehow the film is either above or below focus level of the scanner? Pls doublecheck and also check if the "pixel amount" right next to the resolution slider is the same as when scanning negative. If the issue still remains, please open a support ticket with us via Help --> Request online support from the SilverFast Menu Bar on Mac OS or the Application Menu in Windows at the top of the screen. Keep me in the loop. - Jan

@@LSI-SilverFast Thank you for the response. As far as I can tell the slides are mounted correctly in the holder. I'm scanning at 48 bit so I can further edit in Lightroom. Additional settings: Photo Quality (300 ppi), 3600 ppi resolution, 1200 zoom to create a roughly 11x17 image. I use multi-exposure and do not have unsharp mask enabled because I never needed that for sharp negatives.

@@muleschooler Why not try the unsharp mask. You might get good results.
