Well, to be fair, it was one of the countries that actually had an attempted communist uprising after WWI - it was Finland, Hungary, Germany, and of course Russia if I remember correctly - so as a country it's not known for being 100% anti communist like say, Poland. Sure did a number on Stalin in the Winter War though.

Without much to go on with his presidency, it feels like this is a dark ending, by and large because of what it takes to get there. Multiple high profile assassinations, the repealing of civil rights, and a big dip into authoritarianism, etc. Even if it gets better, the sixties and seventies are just rocked with bad times.

@@idiot-yw5oq Not only did they collapse earlier but if I the lore hasn't changed they were lead by Bukharin who was a proponent of the NEP which was a market socialist type of economy much different than what Stalin did meaning he would be a much more liberal compared to stalinist tankies, at least economically because idk what Bukharin did in tno in terms of social policies but given what I heard about infiltration into the USSR and the sheer number of people who were purged in our timeline alive in TNO he was also probably more socially liberal.
