It is SO refreshing to see handmade clothing that not everyone else on YT or Instagram is making simply because it is trendy. Linda, your clothes are absolutely lovely on you, particularly the Maynard dress and the boiler suit. I truly enjoyed your video and immediately subscribed. When I was a little girl I went with my mother to the S&H Green stamp store. On the top shelf was a Singer sewing machine. I can’t even imagine how many books needed to be redeemed to obtain that machine but I never forgot it. Fast forward to 1975, I’m 20 with two kids and money was tight. I convinced my husband to buy me a $300 Singer when his paycheck was $200 a week. He said, you better use it. I taught myself how to sew. Ten years later he would beg me to put my machine away. I was always making something. You have inspired me to take it up again. It was never a hobby. It was more like a part of me.

I forgot about Green Stamps. we would sit at our kitchen table and paste them into the books and I think my mom took them to the grocery store, can't remember exactly.... So glad I have inspired you. I just found you, your work is amazing ❤. I love your style too. I love a loose fit, but I don’t want it to drown me. I find if I can get a good fit in the neck and shoulders, a loose fit really works and is quite feminine. Give us some tips and strategies for shopping in Mood, I’m hoping to get into the store myself but I hear it can be a bit overwhelming. There’s nothing like touching and feel fabric before you buy it, it makes all the difference.

Great segment and I subscribed! Great to see some unusual styles and hearing your thoughts about maturing. I started sewing because I couldn’t find clothes that fit or liked. I no longer buy clothes, have fewer, they’re well made and wear them all the time. The only challenge for me is fabric (access). I get inspired by the feel and look of fabric. Hard to do online.

Hi, I totally agree. I've bought fabric online and then you get it... and it doesn't always work. You really need to feel it. I'm frustrated there are less and less places to buy fabric. Mood in NYC is pretty good, but even there I can't always find what I want. I wish for a cool, small fabric shop like a cool, small bookstore...

Your style is close to mine, but I make my clothes out of knit fabrics. I think instead of casual, your word is CLASSIC. Maybe comfy classic, then feminine/romantic.
