As a 22 year Army Infantry veteran, including tours in Panama, Germany, and Korea, as well as a tour in Saudi Arabia, and son of a Korean Conflict USMC veteran father, I have to say this is the best, most well done, tribute to our armed forces I have ever seen. Will it be re-released later to include our new Space Force? Time will tell. My daughter attended LSU. I attended Idaho Falls High School, in both cases, Tigers rule! GRIN. For those of you millenials out there who seem to think the military is a waste of money and resources, let me ask this...what do you have that wasn't earned by them? Since 1775 (both the Army and Marine Corps date to 1775) our military has stood against every threat, never belligerent, always defensive, against our nation and allies. And the only loss we ever experienced was when Congress refused to declare war and appropriate the funds needed to do the job. Sadly, too many young Americans died as a result of those "police actions" and failure of Congress to learn from history. We followed the French to failure in Viet Nam, and the Russians to failure in Afghanistan. In matters of defense, since 1950, in my opinion, our Congress is our own worst enemy. Whether you are a baby boomer, Gen X, Millenial, GenY or a kid who doesn't yet have a generation assignment, understand this: there is a reason our Army and Navy predate our nation. The Army, formed as the Continental Army in June 1776, and Navy, formed in November 1776, were the means by which we "rebels" as the British called the "revolution"aries, managed to throw off the yoke of a mother country who demanded taxes with no representation in Parliament. Thus, our Congress, which applies representation through two Senators and Representatives in number based on population as determined by the US Census, in theory, to all the populace of the United States. And history was our friend. Following the American Revolution, France, who had assisted the colonies against Britain, found herself in a revolution, which we, as a newly minted nation, assisted, to France's benefit as a newly minted Republic. Freedom is never free. It is earned, in war, in sweat, in conflict, in loss. And yet, in less than 250 years, from a bunch of revolutionary rebels, we have evolved as a nation from a group if "rebellious colonies" to the only remaining superpower in the world. And the most economic powerhouse, with the world basing it's currencies on the US dollar. Those things don't happen to a failed nation. Yes, we have our problems, and yes, we have our foibles, and yes, our Congress is subject to the whims of politics, but over a quarter of a millenium, the nation that threw off the British Empire against all odds, became the world's leading superpower, outlasting the failed Soviet Union, with stats against which all other nations are measured, including GDP, and against whose currency all others are measured, (and possibly, the only nation with the gold reserves necessary to back up our currency and our national debt.) Laissez le bon temps rouler! (Yep, I speak Cajun...GRIN). Our nation was founded on, and all our founding documents include, a deep, abiding faith in God, and a belief that we, as a nation, were founded on Biblical principles. We have God on our currency, our Court Oaths, and in our Government, despite those who would try to remove it. Only, in my belief, does the United States of America exist by the grace of God, who seems to have found a post new Testament way to bring the Hebrews, and all others, to the Promised Land.... (and which seems to have made us the enemy of all who don't believe in a Christian God.) (My opinion only).
