South Carolina has a shot at the national title in 2012 if they win this game…. SCAR would have won the SEC East and played Bama for the SEC Championship AKA the semifinal to play Notre Dame for the national championship. The top 6 SEC schools were far better than Notre Dame that year… There isn’t any doubt who wins between SCAR-Notre Dame in 2012.

I'm sitting here re-watching this game for this very reason. If SC some how some way finds a way to pull this game out, they're playing Bama for a chance to go and win the national championship.

Out of that entire 2010 - 2013 run, this 2012 team was something special. I was at the game vs. UGA the week prior in Columbia and after we spanked Georgia, I remember how electric the feeling was looking forward to this game. At LSU had always been the game I dreaded being on our schedule (for good reason…the real Death Valley is one of the toughest places to play in college football) but this one was different. This was certainly a heartbreaker with how good this season was.

Ohio State was better than Notre Dame as well, just weren't bowl eligible. I think this was the strongest year the SEC ever had in terms of the quality at the top.

Hindsight is 20/20 , never would’ve known how good they were till many years later when they did good in NFL, hence why this comment is now and not years ago. Also hence why you don’t include James wright in your names, because he was a name guy back then too
