My toxic trait is thinking that im a seasoned vintage drafter, just from watching endless lsv drafts.

Tbh, there's a lot you can take away from these vids. You probably still need to get the reps in on MTGO to actually become a great drafter, but these videos have definitely made me considerably better just through watching. I won a couple 64 player events and have a very good winrate almost every cube season and I don't think any of that would be the case without Luis's great advice over the years.

I would love an explanation for the Strip Mine pick over Inti or Carnage Interpreter. Did your prediction for what would wheel shift you off of Inti or Interpreter or was Strip Mine just your top choice no matter what?
@turbobrew10 ай бұрын
I was interested by that pick too. In that position I probably would have taken Inti because LSV was light on 2 drops and already had some good 3/4/5 drops. On the other hand, strip mine single handedly won LSV a game and it plays on an axis which Inti and Carnage Interpreter cannot.
@christopherbarna795710 ай бұрын
Strip Mine is great in any aggressive-leaning deck. Definitely first pickable out of a pack when you are already there, even in the absence of other synergies.
@tylercousens346710 ай бұрын
One thing that may have factored into the pick is that strip mine can be played in any deck. So he definitely doesn’t want to pass it if he can help it. If it was a regular draft instead of team draft I’m sure Inti is the pick
@Jingoa10 ай бұрын
Strip is higher variance but is on average pretty similar in impact, but the more important reason is just that in team draft, the fact that strip is a card the other team can and will take makes the pick much more clear. It's a hate draft that doesn't hurt you at all. In a league draft, Inti would probably be a better pick because it is so consistently good in that kind of deck. No reason to mess around with the variance of strip.

P1p1, you say that Sheoldred is likely to be 2nd picked over Thoughtseize. Is that because you think they're specifically going to try to hook/cut, or has Sheoldred recently superseded Thoughtseize in your pick order?
