I used a lot of different study methods and one of them was your channel particularly the practice questions, and I passed my LICSW exam! Thank you so much for the helpful resources! :)

I understand this is a national test, I struggled with the second practice question. I answered correctly, but in the state I live in, it is lawful for parents to spank their children with belts, as long as it does not cause significant harm (greater than bruising). So in actual practice, spanking with a belt is often not spoken of as a reportable offense.

Yeah the abuse questions can be tough bc culturally that definition can vary from state to state.

Hi, I appreciate finding your channel. My exam is a week away, and it's refreshing to hear your teaching style, especially the Cereal Method. Thank you so much for that! I am crossing my fingers here, trying to keep my anxiety in check, but I will remember the Breathing technique that you shared. I will remember to breathe in between paragraphs to keep me focused and from rushing. Again, many thanks for all of your tips.

Hey, Kareen! Thanks for checking out my channel. I'm glad the videos have helped. You got this! Take it one question at a time. It's ok if you don't feel 100% sure when answering the questions. Just remember to do your best and go from there.

You read my mind about the domestic violence question lol! What if the client continues to ignore to repeat the statement?

Haha I got you! If that answer choice is available, we can ask them again. We still need to ultimately clarify what the client means by their statement before we can proceed.

Awesome Ray, I definitely liked this video , the way it make me feel so secure and be on the lookout for red flags, as a mandate reporter. Definitely a + to you the breakdown questions were so easy to understand especially when you read them out loud at a slow pace

Hi Ray. I m definitely enjoying your channel. I find this much more helpful in practicing for my exam than the practice guide alone. I take my exam in 5 days. yikes. For practice question one. could you explain why the answer would not be the option to explore with the client. I know the topic is mandated reporting but isn't our responsibility to our client first in an initial session? we can get to who is caring for the elderly mother after we have assessed her feelings about the situation.

Hey, Wynda! Hope all is well. Thank you for being a part of our tribe, I appreciate you! As a mandated reported, we HAVE to report known or suspected abuse or neglect to CPS or APS. For question number #1, the woman is a caregiver for her mother and reports leaving for periods at a time. Before jumping to filing an APS report, we want to inquire if someone else is home to look after her mother when the client leaves. Yes, the 45-year-old woman is our client but we also have a responsibility to the greater society as a mandated reporter. Also, we know how the woman feels already. The woman stated her feeling within the question. Hope that helps!

Hi Ray, I have a few questions. I take my test on March 15th and I wanted to be sure I understand this correctly. First, what if a client who is being abused (domestic violence) reports wanting to retaliate and hurt the abuser in the session. Does that need to be reported? Also, for Q2 is spanking a child always considered abuse?
@raytubelcsw
@raytubelcsw Жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes, that would have to be reported. Someone has reported plans and intent on hurting and identified person. Spanking is not always considered abuse. Spanking is considered abuse when marks and/or bruises are made. Hope this helps!

When it comes to the Tarasoff thing im always confused how youre supposed to warn the person when most of the time our clients arent giving us full names and addresses of the people in their lives.

Hi Ray, once again another very helpful video created by you! I have a question about the boundaries/lines of INVESTIGATING and REPORTING. With he belt question, isn't verifying the CPS report a type of investigation or am I getting mixed up? Thank you so much!
