Back in the 80’s the Station Yard at Upton, Oxon, was bought and 3 new homes added alongside the old station. It was renamed Beeching Close by the local council.

I think a correction is required, at c.0:40. In November 2021 the initial service was alternate hours. It became hourly with the May 2022 timetable.

The route from Plymouth was severed in 1968. In 1970 the line to Gunnislake was singled...

Oh dear, and again at c.0:45. The bus connections with Bude and Launceston didn't start until October 2022. Only Tavistock had a dedicated bus link when the Dartmoor Line opened in November 2021.

Buses went from St Davids in Exeter to Holdsworthy and Bude via Okehampton town centre. They only went up to the station when the railway came back into regular use

My brain was, "Okehampton to Hawaii?" It wouldn't have been that farfetched. I visited the many times the norfolk seaside village of California.

Halwill Junction remained derelict for many years before becoming a housing estate. A large circular brick built pit used to house a turntable for locomotives. All that workmanship sacrificed because of our fatal attraction to the humble private car. 🚗🚙🚕🚑🚛🚚🚗🚕🚌🚎🚐🛻
