How would I add an LED to the circuit

Hi, you just replace the R2 load with an LED.

Yes, the simple LED can be also used. R1 can be 100 ohm and C1 can be 1000uF. At simulation command you put stop time 100m and check the Start external DC supply voltages at 0V. You will be able to see on the graphics how the voltage rises.
