Glad it finally opened in spite of the delays, I have completely forgotten what Upp Thomson Road looked like before construction began Some thoughts: There seems to be a lack of exit signs (and area map) at the platform level. In stations with only one exit this isn't a big deal but I noticed many of the new stations are aligned to have exits at both sides, and there were definitely commuters who were stuck after alighting trying to figure out which side to exit from. I also would not like to take the wrong escalator and backtrack afterwards. I hope this can be improved on soon because we really want to minimise the number of confused commuters standing in front of escalators and gantries figuring out where to go. Taking 0:17 as a reference, I would prefer if the lit signs showed me what was at the exit, not just the exit number. Seeing "Exit 1" after tapping out is meaningless, "Thomson Plaza" is what I really care about. The old convention in existing MRT stations don't have this problem. I also feel the smaller sign under the CCTVs should have a thicker font weight; the text is actually thinner than the bus stop code numbers. I really like the train interiors, platform train info display, and the area map being aligned to its actual position though, I think those were very well done

Few more things I'd like to add: 1. Think it's a pity that the single digit numbers assigned to bus stops near MRT stations are being removed too. E.g. @ Mayflower MRT it's faster to differentiate bus stop 1 from 3 than bus stop 54189 from 54199. 2. Then at the platforms, the route maps have shrunk the terminus numbers (13 & 14 in TEL's case) in favour of putting a big 'A' or 'B' at the header, & initially I didn't know what 'A' & 'B' were until I figured they were referring to Platforms A & B (which was spelt out explicitly in full on maps at older stations' platforms but not in TEL) 3. The lifts now have a colour floor display, that could be exploited further than it is now to improve wayfinding e.g. showing the symbol of a bicycle when reaching L2 of Mayflower MRT station's Exit 2 (whose rooftop has a bicycle park), a train symbol when reaching platform level, plus the words "Thomson East Coast Line" on a brown banner (for lifts in interchange stations). Since the lifts are quite deep, a slider bar could also be displayed (like in lifts in London's Tube) to show how deep down the lift has travelled between floors at any one point of time so far e.g. from street level to the ticket concourse, or from concourse to the platform. The lift doors also take too long to open - 5s of idling after the lift levels with the floor you're going to 4. The monochrome PIS scrolling text displays positioned transversely in the trains are underutilised, staying mostly blank except when at, approaching or just leaving stations. Think it could take over some of the text that's currently being displayed on the DRMDs instead in-between stations, that could instead display route maps for longer (plus station names in more languages) plus some ads. 5. Areas with >1 escalator going in the same direction could have some at slow (for the elderly) & others at fast speed. 6. Now that TEL has opened, older MRT lines' signs now look more cluttered by comparison, but TEL's signs go abit too far in the other extreme I feel. On a smaller note, using letters instead of numbers for exits also made the MRT more unique (as HK's MTR is the only other system I know in the world that does that)

Amsterdam's metro uses the same system (Urbalis 400) too I heard & has also been delayed by reliability issues, but to be fair they have more types of rolling stock & train services to handle (e.g. 3 lines sharing the same tracks south of _Centraal_ station, while also operating both regular full-sized metro trains & narrower light-rail/pre-metro vehicles that'd switch to on-street running & overhead power in the city's south)
