You think of drum and bass and you automatically think LTJ Bukem. I started off in the early 91 grooverider, Fabio usual suspects the list is endless, Mikey B, not forgetting the women DJ rap. Looking back almost 30 years of drum and bass, jungle and dubstep the one that sticks out for me is LTJ Bukem. Logically-Timeless ! 🔝E💊🔥 BoxedNReady Crew 🇬🇪 91/02. I'm 44 now, if I passed away tomorrow it was definit-e-ly worthwhile.💯

me too the first jungle night i went to was in handsworth leisure centre in Birmingham 91 when they were calling it jungle techno and they were just beginning to isolate the break beat from the hardcore and then it started to get more jungle with the hip hop flavours and various styles and I started going all over the country every weekend from Blackburn from roast in London and the qué club in Birmingham and the hummingbird in Birmingham and the Amazon and Bristol and everywhere...

@@jamiegrieve5875 'Jungle' as it isn't really kick in until late 92-93. Jungle techno was in place, as it were. There was a gentle shift from hardcore. Hardcore/jungle techno, run in as high as 150 bpm. Ragga jungle was massive in the creation of Jungle. Most running in at 175 bpm +

@Steve yes it didn't form into the magic of 93 94 but I was going to Aston villa sports centre for various events form starlight and the hummingbird and lots of others after the first event I went to where I heard the term jungle techno and the shift as you said form the hardcore with some good examples of the sound and scene to come

incidentally Bukem in the mid 90s was pioneering a more dreamy, melodic and jazzy style of dnb, which at the time was dubbed "intelligent drum n bass" - that sound has kind of evolved into what is generally referred to as "liquid" in the dnb scene in the 2000s
