Really enjoyed taking part in this, thanks for inviting me! I've taken up the challenge Chris set me at the depot and am working on some Lego models of disused stations and possibly some Harry Bell Measures architecture too!

This model, especially of the IMR (18:30) fills me with joy. Chris' comment about the "detail even though you can't see it" is merely a continuation of the mediæval masons' love of their job. They, especially the cathedral stonemasons, knew that even though their gargoyles were far too far up to ever be seen, they were still as perfect as every other. For not only can they themselves see it, the paymaster too, any passing raptor and of course the big man himself for whom all their efforts were ultimately aimed. The Good Lord above.

RM357 in May 1960, went into service at Shepherds Bush on Routes 220 & 268. It got it's original body back in March 1981 and went to West Ham.

Absolutely stunning episode (sorry I missed it live, was actually in London for a change). What happens to the Lego models at the Depot - hope they are not taken to bits !! And, do you need a special licence to drive the Routemaster (on the highway) ?
@bensapps3 жыл бұрын
Mine was partly dismantled into sections and transported home in a garden trolley on the tube (no deep tunnel sections). I plan to return to the depot next year with something even more ambitious, and some elements of my display may well be re-used.
@alexgrundon23463 жыл бұрын
And as for driving a Routemaster on the open road, indeed you do need a special driving licence. So we are strictly off road.

Hi Jack. If you are looking to book a tour then visit the LTMuseum website and hit the Hidden London tab. We’ve resumed physical tours with Kingsway Tram Subway and there’s plenty of virtual tours to go at. We’ll gradually bring back more physical tours as conditions allow.
