Those mules are awesome! My reining bred mare can't do the spins and sliding stops due to having a slightly off hock. It's hard for her to pivot on one back leg. However, she's a great horse to take to the county fair. She runs barrels pretty well and does great on poles and stakes, even chills enough for western pleasure, trail, and horsemanship at the fair, but sadly, will never do what she was bred to do. She's 15, so a bit too old to start training anyways. If I ever got a mule, I would probably just use it as a solid trail/cattle working animal. My cows don't really need worked since they are all halter broke, but I find it easier to herd then than to drag than when they escape to the neighbor's hay field. Again, awesome mules! I'm super jealous!

so she has a bad hock and cant support weight on one leg to pivot, but you barrel race her? A sport where they bear weight predominantly on one hind leg to turn around the barrel?
