I am really enjoying all of this comparing as great Bible studying. It gives excellent clarity and is guiding us to areas of the scripture, to help people's understanding more. Thanks David and Marty. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you so much for these podcasts. They take time and prayer and meditation out of your daily lives and we appreciate that. We really enjoyed this one. Jesus was so radically inclusive, not exclusive. We've also noticed in the book of Acts, (which is the beginnings of the church), that it's not about upholding a format of 2x2 nor is there any consistency in this regards. It's about the Holy Spirit going forth after Christ was resurrected using many different people in different ways to spread the good news. And revelations 21:14 is pretty clear about the first twelve only being in the foundation. We also enjoyed the thought of the sower of the seed not using discrimination as to what ground the seed should fall on. So many good thoughts to meditate on. Thanks so much Marty and David.

If the workers today are foundational apostles after the order of the twelve, we should be adding their sermons and correspondance to the Bible as divine scripture. Oh wait, they never want to have their words on the record. 😅 And good luck getting them to perform the signs and wonders which were promised to the twelve. "Oh, that was for that day," they say, but "two and two?" that is for today. Revelation says there are only 12 foundational Apostles, it's spelled out in black and white. Their names will be written on the foundations.

My MIL once told me that the workers' letters could be added to the back of the bible. They would send letters often to my FIL. He was an elder.
@thebigmacd5 ай бұрын
@@RobertaWaller-w6x interesting, because they preach very strongly not to add to or take away from the Bible, to the point some people have a problem with a combo hymnbook and Bible. The reality is doctrine is all over the place, and they have no problem with that as long as people believe in the workers.

I had that exact thought today...that they pick and choose what is for our day.

And Marty, to add to your comment from Acts 20:28 , not only does Paul exhort that the oversight of the flock is the role of the Elders, he also states that the Elders are 'made overseers' by the 'Holy Spirit' - not by any Apostle. In our 2x2 religion, historically & very recently we have worker 'overseers' dissolving meetings, ones that have sweet, Christ centered fellowship. Most recently its because the Elder & wife of that meeting feels, they could no longer be in the purview of a ministry currently engaged in such mis-handling of CSA. So the overseer is taking it upon himself to remove a meeting from a Holy Spirit anointed elder.

Claiming apostleship is a legalistic way of claiming authenticity and authority. But integrity is fundamental to any real authority. Integrity makes us the real deal, authority or no. "Authority" without integrity is just pandering, coercion and hypocrisy- like Epheshians 5, it feels a shame to even mention it.

Love all your videos, David. And the podcast with Marty. Every time I can't wait for the next one. I wanted to ask you if you are aware of the report by Colton Krisher on how the Hermosa convention grounds got sold to your parents. There is currently a fundraiser going on for the Krishers on AFTT. I wonder what your parents' side of the story is and your perspective on the whole thing. It would be wonderful if you could address it at some point. Thanks again for all you do.

I really enjoy how you are going over the scriptures giving much time for pondering & how they can be interpreted in a way most of us haven't had answers for when we asked questions from the ministry. I've always noticed about Stephen, Phillip and several others who contributed greatly in spreading God's Word & they weren't considered or set apart as being workers . It's interesting to note that on William Irvines biography info it states the belief was Episcipalian. The real shocker for me was years ago getting information that the .Truth or Meetings were created by Irvine. We were always told this was from the time of Jesus or the beginning of time. I wonder why the workers have always covered this up, why they always became silent & very uncomfortable when they were questioned about it! Why not be honest with people if indeed it is suppose tombe the Only Way.

The workers of his day erased him (and others) from collective memory, never mentioning his name again. He became "and another worker" at the end of a list of names. When people did mention him, his involvement was hand-waved away as inconsequential. Now 5 generations later, the vast majority of the workers themselves don't know the real story, and are conditioned to disbelieve the truth.

@@thebigmacd I've been delving deep into the information that's now available about the early days when Irvine was attending the Faith Mission . It seemed to be an inter-denominational mission . From what I gather , Irvine decided it would be an interesting experiment to see if he and some other fellows of his company could go out and be preachers like the original disciples went. It seemed he came into conflict amongst his own followers about something he believed and they didn't . For a while there were 3 branches of the 2x2's. It feels so strange when a good portion of my life has been spent in these meetings believing no man every started them. Now that this information is being widely available I can't honestly tell others who would ask what church I go to that it's the Truth right from the beginning , that no person started the meetings .. They would soon find out differently .

@@susanjones7086 the Faith Mission still exists! It's where Irvine got the names "the work" and "workers" from.

@@thebigmacd that's what I've come to understand recently is the Faith Mission does still exist . I wonder what or how they conduct their mission , perhaps like in Irvine's day or maybe it's changed . Yes it does seem he borrowed several words or terms to use in his own church mission, like worker , overseer etc.

Right, to claim apostleship, when the true apostolic church today (Orthodox Church) still had the laying of hands and passing down of true Apostleship, is crazy. Self proclamation of apostleship is idiotic at best.
