Thank you Gen la, I am not able to find his teaching for Day3. It would be helpful if someone could put the link please. Thank you kindly!
Geshe, contrary to what you said science claims life began with a single molecule 5 billion years ago. this is the beginning of life to them. and the universe began 13 billion years ago. but what about atoms and electrons, neutrons and protons and quarts? that is an interesting question you raised. but how does this support the theory of rebirth? and what has boundless space got to do with it?
@tenzinsangpo3216 жыл бұрын
Wild Jepa I wonder what you mean by “Life.” Modern Science’s understanding of life is drawn from the idea that mind is an intrinsic quality of body, and therefore, beginning of body is the beginning of mind. Whereas Geshe la is approaching the idea of mind (subtle mind) from its beginingless source, and thus, life; as one can’t really separate the two. It’s also important to notice that cutting edge modern scientific scholars still aren’t sure if life started as suggested by the Big Bang theory. It’s still an open question. The numbers you have given here is the conventional understanding of life on earth with reference to this planet from the Big Bang perspective.

Great question,Science says that origin of present life started 13 billion years ago but was there another big bang before that?Was there nothing before that?The big bang theory doesn't seem to answer this. See this great video explanation m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2SwiIWsgdOXsNU

you say human birth depends on sperm and egg of father and mother and consciousness enters in their union. if that is the case, what about test-tube baby? no human womb. what about cloning? a union between 2 cells. what about heart transplantation? what about head transplant?
@lobsangjigme10886 жыл бұрын
Wild Jepa looks like u didn’t understood. Consciousness enters once there is union of sperm n egg under the right circumstances which is scientifically prepared Incase of test tube baby.
@zenmarais84253 жыл бұрын
You still need an egg and sperm from somewhere regardless. Test tube babies are still born in a womb. You just do the fertilization process outside the womb (in a ‘test tube’). Then you put the embryo back in a womb. I don’t understand why you are talking about heart and head transplant. Consciousness is inside the brain 🧠. If you cut someones legs off, they still have consciousness. If you cut their heart out, they will still have a conscious until their brain dies from blood loss. If you put a bullet in their brain, they will no longer have conscious. In Buddhism, conciousness is a consequence of life evolving to a certain level. Dogs have a level of consciousness, so do cats, and monkeys. A mosquito has no conscious. It is has not evolved one. When we die, our current consciousness is gone forever. But the ‘I’, our true nature, is at a more fundamental ‘level’ than that. We cannot know what it is. I cannot tell you what ‘you’ are. I/we are too egotistical, attached and animalistic to have realized our true nature. When one realizes their true nature, they are enlightened. Hope this helps you understand.
