Classical music from Spain and Latin America (including Brazil) is well-known among music lovers, but not so much Portuguese music yet aside from fado. This situation should change, as there is much beautiful music I hear from these videos. Thanks to KZbin for getting me acquainted with the works of Portuguese masters. Muito obrigado.

a superb work, I knew him as a conductor but his symphonies are among the best of the 20th century. thank you so much for this fantastic discovery j I used to go to portugal a lot for the Clavel revolution, a model of non violence. Now I live in Thailand, a country in many way similar to portugal.

It is a superb work, as you have said; but when you said « .... I knew him as a conductor...» you are wrong. The famous conductor was Pedro de Freitas Branco, his brother. Luís de Freitas Branco was mainly a composer and... teacher of course. His favourite pupil was Joly Braga Santos, another famous composer.

I can send a youTube example to conductors and they agree it's wonderful, but they say they can't get the score. What should I tell them in the form of advice for getting that score? Walt
