This is actually Chava Alberstein singing, noted in Hebrew bubble at the start. What year was this? The song was written by Naomi Shemer after the 1973 war. The title is best translated as "May It Be." The Beatles' "Let It Be" had come out in 1970 and was an indirect influence. But it also is distinctively Israeli and reflects the painful period after that war, which had been nearly a disaster. Alberstein is probably the best-known singer associated with this song. (Shemer is most famous for Yerushalayim Shel Zahav, Jerusalem of Gold, written just before the 1967 war, amazingly. Many singers have interpreted the song since then, and the best-known version is probably that of Ofra Haza.)

Naomi Shemer used to perform once a year at Hunter College in NYC. She would start very late, but the audience would continue arriving even later. Why she was booked for Saturday nights and not Sunday made no sense.
