Additional response from the application engineer: Manual enter program can or not? The machine uses exclusive software. Simple values are input into a page depicting common rope thread forms then the code is generated to position the cutting tool relative to spindle position. Machining is accomplished using standard turning inserts allows low tool cost and the ability to adjust the rope thread profile - a feature that traditional tracer lathes do not exhibit.

The thread is generated by providing the machine with data points for machining an offset circle. The code takes the eccentric values then slowly rotates those values about an offset axis.

This thread is used in the mining industry, it is a very strong thread and easy to clean in it's particular environment.

This is just a demonstration - no coolant required for this. For normal operation, we recommend using coolant.

Rope Drum threads have a left hand and a right hand... one on each end.. .to raise and lower a cable like on an overhead crane.
