Honestly Giving Goh the Galarian stunfisk was terrible writing. The Swicune episode could have ended without Goh catching it. Honestly Ash has a longer history with Swicune since The Bell tower incident and the Celebi time travel movie.

I feel like Ash’s older gen Pokémon are perfect, but the two Galar Pokémon he got were strange choices. I’m speaking in terms of the species, not the Pokémon themselves. I love Sirfetch’d and Dracovish though so I’m happy they’re what we got.

Eh I think it's fine he only caught like 2 Pokemon from Galar since even though this anime is during gen 8, the show itself is a mixture of all of the regions (which is great imo). The whole tournament is a culmination of his many travels and experiences in general, not just Galar. Gengar was a Pokemon fans have always wanted him to have, especially ever since he gave Sabrina that Haunter he was borrowing. Lucario was also a fan favorite choice ever since it was shown in the Lucario movie that he was descendent of Sir Arran (?) and could sense aura. If anything, I would have rather had Dragonite be a different Pokemon like a Galar starter or a Pokemon from Kalos, Unova, or Hoenn. Other than that, no more Pokemon so he can focus on his team and really bond with them all unlike Goh.

I definitely could have seen Ash with a Corviknight, Eiscue, and Grookey. Journeys should have been another saga where Ash caught more then 5 new Pokémon through it. Heck it would have been cool if like near the end of the series, Ash kept rotating his team with his new AND old Pokémon.

I've only really gotten back into the anime recently, but there are so many cool Pokémon Ash just looks past and doesn't capture throughout all of the series, it's such a shame!

I still wanted Ash to get Eiscue and sobble. Yeah sorry guys i really wanted Ash to get sobble with that covid hiatus and after i bought this sobble plush from the pokemon center at gamestop sobble became a comfort character like grookey is for your and now sobble is my favorite first stage starter. and Drizzile can shine better then under gohs care

@@elcato8126 Unfortunately after the disaster with the Unova League and the fact that the three Unova starters were just lazy copies of better predecessors (Snivy was Bulbasaur clone but with zero changes in moveset and development, Pignite was copy-paste Charizard and Infernape due to his origin story recycled story elements from the two previous Fire-type starters, Oshawott was a lazy rehash of Dawn's Piplup) the writers are not allowed to give Ash all three starters anymore.

I felt like only 3 out of your list of 10 actually fit Ash. Like, there will never ever be another electric type on Ash's team, so I don't even know why Toxtricity was even on the list. The others just either don't make the cut or just do not connect with Ash. Only Grookey and Rookidee (Corviknight) are pokemon Ash should have caught because they compliment him well. I would say also Urshifu but I knew from the very beginning he wasn't going to get one.

Pokémon journeys is as bad as the Sun and Moon anime because we see less of the Galar region not to mention that the writers are letting Goh catch most of the Pokémon from that region especially the starter_Pokemon while Ash didn't get at least one of those starter_Pokemon and he has only Sirfetched and Dracovish as his only Pokémon from that region. Honestly I never really understood why Goh and Chloe were the main characters of this series but it would have been awesome if they were introduced as people who came from the Galar region
