WARNING do NOT use water when the blade guards are removed. I don't think it caused any issues, I didn't really spray that area, but it's not worth the risk. The water did almost no good, and scared me when things did not work after re-assembly. A damp rag can do just about anything the hose can do for a project like this. For quick wash downs when fully assembled, follow this official mammotion guide: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5msZ6Zqf8mAhck My explaination of why i chose this product starts @ 23:37 If you enjoyed this or found it helpful, you may like all my Luba videos in a playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLw2G9IcmMhHqw_qPhsyIrPPtJ5WYIYqRX

Also 3d print or cut out some blade covers to prevent the grass stopping the blades

@@RobotMowerTricks I use 3d printed covers over each of those spinning disks to cover the blade screws on my Luba 5000... YES... it actually does work really well. I also replaced the screws for standard Phillips screws... I highly recommend the cover.

Is there an update on how this is going? Wondering if it's worth doing when my Luba 2 when it gets here, as I had a lot of buildup with Luba 1.
@RobotMowerTricks6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I had shot some video of it for an equal comparison, and have been too busy to edit it all together. I also wasn't sure what to say... the bottom is not clean, but it's not building up either. Running it wet seems to clean it off, but it also causes more grass to get stuck on the guards. I think you'll have a good experience if you coat it with this, and mow your yard with a gas mower, and then keep Luba running. I went out of town, and it rained, and luba did not run all weekend. We've had a lot of rain since then, and I have not been able to get luba to catch up. I also lost of day with the positioning error that everyone got. I was in the beta group, and installing the beta firmware got it running again, so I did not lose 2-3 days like many others. It's building up in the guards, but not on the deck like you see in the start of this video. I can still see the black deck through the thin layer of grass (before the coating it, the black did not show through on the main areas). Another option is getting an extra set of disks, I think they are $30 each from mammotion, then remove the guards. Also, run it every day so it's barely cutting anything. For me, it takes 3 days to mow the whole yard, so it's hard for luba to keep up.
@warp57686 ай бұрын
@RobotMowerTricks awesome. I have a fairly small yard. Maybe 5 or 6 hours with my luba settings to cut. So I'll give this stuff a shot then! Before I do the first cut so it's easy to spray on 😄

Sounds good! I'd love to hear what you think of it over time.

@@RobotMowerTricks sure thing. I will test it out for a few weeks and come back to update how it goes for me
@warp57685 ай бұрын
So, I have run the mower a few times now with the stuff applied, and it is much better. It is mostly cleared, with a few little patches stuck. But they come right off! I sprayed the mower disks as well, and so far, after four or five cuts, my blades are not seized up like they were previously! I'm glad I coated everything before the first cut so I didn't have to try and clean it out first. 😅

Nice video. I think I ask you before how long you have had your LUBA. Did you buy an extended warranty? Thank you for the information.
@RobotMowerTricks9 ай бұрын
I received mine in late February, I did not buy an extended warranty. Extended warranties are usually third parties, and they are terrible to work with. I did it on my sofa and I will never do it again. They took 8 months to decide my my claim, and simply marked it as denied with no explanation. The whole company is set up to take people's money and deny claims. For instance, they did not have a phone number.

Thank you. I'm still deciding if I should purchase a Luba. A friend of mine bought a Husqvarna Robot mower 8 years ago and it is still working. He says it works great except the wire he had to bury keeps breaking. As I'm sure you know, Luba has a two year warranty. I was going to purchase the Luba from Amazon and also buy the warranty from Asurion. However, I want to extend the Luba warranty to 5 years with the Asurion warranty. I don't think that is the way it works. Thank you for your help and videos.

@@HurleyDeanSandpointIdaho My yard is large enough, no wired mower could handle 1.25 acres. But if you're willing to fix the wires and your yard is small enough, and smooth enough for the 2 wheel drive, any wired mower is a huge money saver.

Remove the side guards completely
@RobotMowerTricks9 ай бұрын
If you have a clean lawn, that is a good option, but you need to keep enough of it to seal the rubber. But I have falling sticks, pine cones, and a few concrete spots
@0ssaa9 ай бұрын
I would absolutely not recommend to wash with water underside. Especially when you have removed guards which seal rubber. Many users get water this way inside of luba and damage Luba electronic
@RobotMowerTricks9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I had heard of users having problems when they use water while upside down, but I've never heard that the guards seal the rubber. I'll have to look into that
@0ssaa9 ай бұрын
@@RobotMowerTricks maybe I chose wrong words. Guards press rubber down to seal. Otherwise rubber will lift up and make a gap. Also, I mow without guards for more than half year without problem
@RobotMowerTricks9 ай бұрын
@@0ssaa Did you totally remove the guards so they are no longer pushing on the rubber to seal it? Or keep the plastic plate and drill out the rivets to remove the metal part?
@CH67guy17 ай бұрын
@@RobotMowerTricksI surmise the metal part is to protect “fingers” of anyone who might try to lift the Luba while it is traversing a yard. The metal parts certainly shield the outermost reach of the blades. I have a Luba 2 AWD 10000H mowing the full 2.5 acres so I have certainly experienced the little idiosyncrasies of the Luba 2. I’d say to anyone considering buying a Luba 2 to just pull the trigger and buy it. It’s a game changer if you’re someone like me who loathes mowing grass. I’m considering buying a second Luba 2 for a more distant part of my property where I mow around farm buildings that are outside the confines of the 2.5 acres that my house sits on.

You’d probably have less issue if you got control over all that weed pressure and Luba was cutting grass instead of weeds and wildflowers.
