Recommend using a plastic screwdriver or scraper (but still long and skinny enough to get into the side safety guards) so that you don't scratch up the surface over time which would make it easier for grass to adhere to.

Great review....how wide is your area? Guess it's pretty big if you got the 5000. How long does it take to complete a normal mow in average? Cheers...

I have 0.75 acres. It does take this machine a full day to complete the entire lawn. There are many variables that you can control in the app to slow this down or speed it up: cut speed, spacing of each pass, single cut or double cut. I usually set in on the low end of speed, medium spacing and single cut. If you are near the recommended acreage I would error on the side of the larger battery. Thanks for checking in!

Big piece of advice that saved me from returning mine was putting the RTK in my attic. I had mine in a similar setup as yours and would bounce between fix and float causing multiple location lost issues with the front yard (my RTK was in the back). If you have access and a power supply the attic is actually the best place to put the RTK. With RTK systems they rely on satellite signal, which are able to go through asphalt shingles and plywood without much issues, hence the attic working so well for the RTK. You also get a more centralized location and access to the max amount of satellites. Like you said as well, winter is rough on the RTK, and then you don't have to remap every year. I'd suggest anyone to give it a try there first if you have asphalt shingles and plywood roof.

Great to know, thank thanks for sharing! Unfortunately, the main attic likely only has switched power that I could tie into for an outlet. I’ll have to think about how to add an outlet.

Just tie into the hvac switch if your hvac is in the attic. Or if your attic light switch is up there. If your attic switch is wall mounted in the living area, adding a feed from it is not hard.

Any thoughts on using graphite instead of oil to prevent attracting dirt and dust? Just curious. The force from the wd-40 spray would have some cleaning effect for sure. Wondering if it wouldn't be better to spray it off with water and then spray graphite in after the water dries?

I’m a little shy about using water. I’ve seen a few reviews kill theirs with water from underneath. The app also warns about using a pressure washer from underneath so im staying away from water altogether. I would say silicone, graphite, or teflon would be better than WD-40.

I sub'd after watching a couple of your vids...good job and I like your logic. I've got a concrete driveway it would need to ride on to get to the front yard. I'm thinking if I put the charging base on the concrete between the front & back yards, it would cure one of the donut issues. In your opinion, would that work? Thanks!

1:25 I just use a leaf blower. Run it on a dry day and then leaf blow it clean. Most everything with come off no problem.

I am happy with the robot and it has significantly reduced my workload. It’s not perfect but I do believe that great improvements are being made and will continue for the next few years.

Isnt it water resistant? On other robot mowers i see people hoseing the bottom. There is a robot mower with a sweeper attachment.

It definitely not waterproof. When loading the app on my phone it warns against hosing it off from the bottom. I'm sure it was meant to be resistant but in practice, it is not. I am very excited to see all the new robot mowers and attachments that are becoming available. Hopefully, I can get access to some new ones this spring.

I plan to get the Luba II high cut. I purchased the 5K model, but never opened the box, and sent it back because my lawn is best cut no less than 3.5" I have not bagged leaves in nearly a decade, because there is no reason to (in my case). I've always mulched leaves. Leaves work great for fertilizer, and the leaves never cause an issue. With that, the Luba 2 will be great during the year before Fall.

That looks like it's going to be a nice improvement over the first generation. The vision system will backup the sat. nav. so it should be much more reliable. Please let me know how you get on with it. Hopefully, I get get access to some of the newer models this spring and provide some reviews.

I took guards off permanently and bought a small hand held air blower to clean it out

They need a clean mode that vibrates the deck surface several times during cleaning.

Maybe if you going to move the rtk u should put it right up on the peak of the house? The house itself is blocking a lot of that sky that side.

You are correct, but I'm not sure my power supply will reach that far. I could add an extension cord. Someone else mentioned an attic installation and claims the asphalt roof does not block the signal. This sounds like a good option because it would keep it out of the weather also.
