Nice review. This thing cuts grass too short. They need to release a version that lets you mow northern lawns at 4 inches. Turf type tall fescue shouldn't be mowed at 2.5".

Do you know if it’s possible to alter the pattern each cut. Like today cut long ways and the now go from side to side? Would love to see examples of that if possible. The lines seem to show up on your lawn better than others.

Would really like to see the bottom of the Luba - have they eliminated the two guards that are on the 5000?
@davelandry646 Жыл бұрын
Nvr mind - was on the bottom on your unboxing video (they are still there). Not a big deal for me - was just curious (they are easy to remove if your grass gets stuck in them).
@ampac Жыл бұрын
@@davelandry646 These guards must be part of the device due to safety guidelines. In the 5000 they were actually riveted to the chassis (at least the European versions). Not sure if the 1000 and 3000 use rivets or screws. Also note that the guardrails have the additional function of keeping the mowing deck/disks level with the ground. If you remove them, you actually risk damaging the disks or blades when mowing uneven terrain.

I ordered my Luba AWD 1000 in May, but after three months, I have not received it yet. When I email support, I only get vague information, asking me to be patient. I've paid $2,000 and haven't received anything, especially no clear information. The latest update was the end of August, but when I ordered, it was mid to end of June. I strongly recommend not buying without a delivery guarantee.

The robot lawnmowers got me interested in robot vacs! The fact that the boundary wire is gone, has started to really make these an option. I hope Ecoflow sends you one, as I would love to see a comparison between the Luba and the Ecoflow blade and then wait until one becomes available in South Africa! I have not seen much about Ecovacs robot lawnmower, which is also supposed to launch now sometime.

They should have put a laser navigator on it as on robot vacuums. Then it could use a couple of temporary reference points to navigate with when losing satellite signal. But guess it would be too expensive
@AdamsReviews Жыл бұрын
Yea that would be nice but not sure it would work without like a solid fence for the laser to see.
@stimpen12 Жыл бұрын
@@AdamsReviews I meant just for the occasions it loses satellite signal. Like under a dense tree or something it could use the tree trunk and something else in the vicinity to navigate until it get signal again. But I guess it would be to expensive to add this function and guess it wouldn't help to sort out all situations either.

@dondascher1527 Жыл бұрын
I am looking for the evidence that the omni-directional front wheels are TURNING so as to not tear up the grass/ground during turns. I do not see anything different than what the front wheels on the 5000 do. They do not turn so same thing. Therefore I see no advantage with the omni-directional wheels.
@KarlWang-q3e Жыл бұрын
No, the front wheels is turning actively powered by its own motors. I think you are saying that the small rollers installed on the front wheels seems not to turn. It will turn freely by the passive friction to avoid tearing the grass by the friction when Luba rotates. So only the rollers near the ground will rotate while the upper ones of the omni-directional front wheels keep still.
@dondascher1527 Жыл бұрын
@@KarlWang-q3e I am sorry .... I said TURNING ..... I should have said ROTATE LEFT OR RIGHT in the same way as automobile wheels. They are pointing forward all of the time just as the 5000 model.
@AdamsReviews Жыл бұрын
Yes the rollers on the dront wheels turn by the weight of the machine and the rear wheels making them turn left or right....they are just loose wheels on the main wheel.
@KarlWang-q3e Жыл бұрын
@@dondascher1527 Yes, they are pointing forward. But rotation of the wheels and the rollers are orthogonal. The actual moving direction is combined by this two orthogonal moving direction.According to the rules of vector superposition, they are no sliding friction issue to tear the grass.
