The full movie is 2:12 hours (132 minutes). But, here on KZbin and on Netflix it's 1:49 hours (109 minutes). There are many cuts in iconic and very interesting scenes.

No. He looked at her as his daughter. She didn't understand the feelings she had about him. Normal, she lived in a dysfunctional family. He was always trying to explain what she had was not romantic love. Nevertheless it was love she had. If he survived they could have a normal life. Her at school and him working in a normal job. He died to let Mathilda live. And she knows it. Watching the extended version brings a lot of how they changed each other.
