I’m not sure but my guess is that so if they accidentally show or say anything unwanted, it’s impossible to go back and watch it again. So it’s only that one instance live, and afterwards they can private the VOD to edit it

But take Kanae for example, there was an instance where in one of his streams, a porn site popped up. So he took down the VOD to censor that, and then made it public again. It's like an extra insurance in case something like that happens
