The passing of Luca Salvadori just a few days ago during a race in the IRRC (International Road Racing Championship) in Frohburg (Germany) has left the motorcycling world in mourning. Among many messages of condolence, the one from Filippo Rovelli, his main rival, has stood out due to the decision he made.
Salvadori was the leader of the National Trophy 1,000 in Italy, with Filippo Rovelli closely following him. Both Rovelli and his team, Pistard, have decided not to compete in the last two races, allowing the late rider to be crowned champion posthumously.
Valentino Rossi should take inspiration from such gestures instead of tarnishing his name by attacking Marc Marquez, who, on the other hand, is smiling again after winning in MotoGP.
