It's worth noting that the Forgotten Ones were the Gods of Terror, Disease, Malevolence, and SPITE

I believe that the same people who imprisoned him were the ones who bound the demon Spite to Lucanis. I don’t think he made any kind of deal; their attention seemed solely focused on each other. I also think the reason Lucanis and Spite share such a rare bond is due to some sort of enchantment that protects him from being fully taken over by the demon.
@DarthShadie4 ай бұрын
@@Animelover0981 I like that. I like my idea of their relationship being symbiotic rivalry, which would work with your suggested theory. Caring for each other, but in a rival way too. I just can't wait to discover so much more.

I really enjoyed the video! You highlighted so many interesting aspects, now I'm even more intrigued by Lucanis's character! :D Hurry up, Halloween! 😭 6:15 Regarding the white/purple eyes: I don't know whether Flemeth and Solas are considered abominations (or if white here is only an indicator of how they do ancient elven magic or draw from Mythal's power?), but going by the example of Anders/Justice, isn't this spirit possession? In DA: Origins when recruiting Shale we meet a cat that's possessed by a desire demon, it's eyes glowing purple. In Inquistion we encounter wolves with green glowing eyes, controlled by a terror demon. Granted, we never got any example of visual cue, that I can think of, for demon possession of humans. Only Connor from Origins comes to mind who appeared completely normal except maybe for the dark shadows around his eyes. If I'm not missing something crucial, I don't think there should be any reason for Lucanis's/Spite's eyes to glow white if Spite during the story of Veilguard won't evolve into a spirit. (That kind of character development would be really cool to see, though! :O)

Hehe yeah, hurry up Halloween. 😁 Thanks! You bring up a good point for the eye. We have not seen Lucanis's when Spite ebters his body, only when he has the wings (which could be from Spite or from magic) and Spite's eyes. So when that Abominate ability is avtivated, I want tomsee his eyes. It would defo be a fool character arc.

i have the crackest pot theory that Spite is a spirit made of all the feelings that Lucanis had to repress to be a good assassin and Zara Renata somehow managed to take it out and turn it into a demon/spirit/something and this was the experiment that they made with him.
@DarthShadie4 ай бұрын
OH, that is a good theory! I love it! And then Lucanis would have to merge with Spite? Reconcile his past, learn to feel all his feelings? Oh my god, that's brilliant!

The more I think about it, the more it really feels like Rook would be the one who betrays everybody. We are all hypersensitive that one of our companions will betray us. And in every Dragon Age, there has been a mage doing it. So if another major betrayed us, it would be meh. But what if, like Knight's of the Old Republic, YOU are the betrayer? And that revelation shakes everything to the core?

Reminder: For guessing Spite's spirit equivalent, remember that their equivalent isn't their opposite. Despite what some codices say, it is usually a positive virtue/ideal that can be corrupted into the vice/emotion. Wisdom - Pride, Justice - Vengeance, Introspection - Regret. Something like patience could become sloth, but sloth wouldn't come from something like diligence, it's opposing virtue. Spite is not an easy one to guess, but it's unlikely to be a direct antonym.
@DarthShadie4 ай бұрын
That's true. In that case, it could be perhaps Consideration or Appreciation. I am thinking doing something out of consideration for someone, or out of spite against them. We'll see when we olay what Spite once was. I am looking forward to his backstory too.

@@davidradach9311 😁 Yes, he has a lot of redeemable characteristics. You know, I did Cassandra's romance as a male Inquisitor, even if I'm straight too, and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you feel adventurous to do similarly, I am certain you'd enjoy the nuances such a playthrough will show. I do want to romance Neve potentially. But I get you, it's not what we reflexively are drawn to. A character's charisma has to be that strong and I have to like them enough during my first plays to be attracted to them in that "I'm gonna match my playable character with them" way.

I am a straight female and I usually romance everybody. Not just because I like romance in games (I do, but it is not that important), but it is a possibility to know more about your companions. Quite often you can find out something about them you just can't in just the friendship route. Sometimes I start liking them way more after I romance them - and sometimes less, it happened, too. And a roleplay is fun, too.) I am not trying to convince anybody, just offering my point of view on things.)
