@LucasCatania172 жыл бұрын
Thank you steve! Can’t wait to go back and explore more
@patrickchase5614 Жыл бұрын
The "most difficult" on the trail map would be Felipe's and Kiwi Flats. Felipe's is the line that he would have dropped into if he'd continued going straight over the ledge at 13:45. Kiwi Flats is above and to skier's left of that. It's accessed by picking your way further out along the ridge that he stood on at 13:17. It was probably unskiable in the relatively bony conditions shown here, and Felipe's would have a ~10 ft mandatory air about halfway sown, though both filled in very nicely by March this season. In terms of most difficult in general, there are some lines off of the top that are another notch or two up. Like most big mountains the really gnarly stuff isn't on the trail map.
@SCASM101 Жыл бұрын
Which lines you talking about? Dos pasos?

Your videos from Mammoth were absolutely incredible. I've been skiing there for 50 years and have hit just about every nook and cranny available on the mountain. You did a great job of hitting many of the high points, but there's plenty left for you to explore on return trips. The debris field that you saw was most likely patrol induced. Mammoth Ski Patrol is awesome keeping the mountain safe for everyone. Keep the great videos coming.

1) sick videos as always lucas. Love your travels and you're a rad skiier. Looking forward to the content this season. 2) Ngl I skied both palisades and mammoth growing up. 2 different mountains, but palisades definitely has the better terrain. Find a good local and they'll show you the ropes. Hope you can make it back there on a good day (not in the middle of an intense storm). Mammoth is better when it hasn't snowed in a while, but I'd say the amount of expert terrain is limited (mostly open face, above treeline, some cliffs) but palisades has way more mandatory-air lines, hiking to no-fall zone stuff (like phillipe's), and fast tree runs. I think mammoth usually has better snow due to the elevation, but wish for more varied terrain. I think what's hard about palisades is the map doesn't show much at all. You'd think it's a boring mountain until you realize there are unmarked cliffs and drops because "you just learn". I don't think that's the way to show a mountain safely, but it's the way it is. 3) if you go back to mammoth check out huevos grande. All that terrain right under and skiers left of the gondy is rarely ridden but super fun. Additionally just outside the resort is the hole! Equally fun, not as intense.
