People feel weird about favoritism in the competition just in general and it just so happened that the producers have favoritism towards Gigi and you can’t deny it because Jan should’ve won that one challenge and there were other wins that definitely was not for Gigi but it’s not Gigi’s fault in a competition show that the producers like her, she gives them Violet Chachki vibes. Simce we want to talk about actual white privilege then here is something that actually happened so far in fucking 2020: A black dude got killed and lynched in March and the police found out about it 2 months later and they still looked at the killers as “good guys that killed a suspicious black man,” them white dudes getting away with murder or not having a right punishment is white privilege because a black person would get arrested just for doing something small, just a desperate attempt to put them into the system. Police pick on these people because they know they can order them around at the police station, prison system is modern day slavery.

If you look at my comment I quoted the term "skinny white privilege" because in the drag race fandom, people believe that being skinny AND white (not one or the other, both compounded together) gives contestants an unfair advantage. That is why I quoted it as such, not to try and act as if white privilege itself doesn't exist in wider society; there's no skinny or fat white privilege in society, it's just called white privilege - being fat and white doesn't really make you exempt from white privilege does it? There's no "fat white priviliege" regarding queens in this tv show (maybe except from Sherry being pushed this season as they wanted a big girl to win). Now regarding the competition itself, I genuinely believe that Gigi was deserving of her Madonna rusical win. It was not a singing challenge (if it was then Sherry could have won instead of Jan). The task was for them to embody Madonna, Gigi did that the best, and a fact of these rusicals is that each part has pre-choreographed choreography and lyrics that make some parts more memorable and entertaining. Despite the fact that Jan did well, with what she was given she simply could not have given as much of a memorable performance as Gigi did (who succeeded in her more complex choreography). Then regarding the runway, yes Gigi wore a bra and panties. But this runway was reminiscent of the ugly dress one from season 7, as in the look didn't have to be particularly good to fit the assignment. Gigi's look was a look of Michelle's, the task was to do a Michelle look, her look did fit the runway theme , and the judges must have appreciated her less obvious take on the runway theme. It must be said, there are people who are bitter at Gigi. They aren't just saying they don't like her because she was favoured, they are saying she was favoured because of her skin colour and body type. I feel like discrediting peoples achievements over these characteristics is quite unpleasant. If her being a "skinny white twink" was all she needed to be favoured by the judges, then how come queens like Silky, Eureka and (kinda) Kimchi were favoured in their own ways? None of them were skinny white twinks? Let's say Gigi was deserving of lip syncing on specific episodes, I believe the reason she was "saved" was due to her position of a front runner rather than her being a privileged white; queens like Kim Chi and Silky (until the makeover) were protected from being in the bottom as the producers wanted to keep their stronger competitors in the race and wouldn't want to risk losing them. But an example of actual clownery was Pearl getting saved all the way to the finale for being a hot twink that the fans would thirst over, Kennedy deserved the finale spot. No offense to Gigi but I don't think she falls into the same category as Pearl 😂 I must note, when we say one queen experiences one type of backlash, it doesn't not mean another queen does not. I know Jaida got a lot of hate during the middle of the season, but discussing the hate at this time which is mainly directed at Gigi does not imply that other queens like Jaida or Brita have not recieved backlash themselves.

Just the same old "sexy dancing drag queen" that we've been seeing up until Sasha won. People want America's next drag superstar to set the bar for the next queen, and Gigi is...all things considered, pretty boring for a queen. Jaida and Crystal had a lot of amazing outfits that constantly pushed boundaries. Gigi decided to wear less fabric and she somehow won more challenges.

The thing is Bianca came in branding herself as a comedy queen which indicated that fashion wasn't her main priority. However, Gigi came in saying 'my drags gonna be on the cover of vogue', so instinctively we'd expect more from her runways. And the thing is queens like crystal got told to change their makeup three episodes into the season however, Gigi wore the same button and bows like silhouette multiple times without being critiqued for it.

Here's why she won each of her challenges Ball: Her lady baller was better than Jaidas. And Nicky had the best basketball wife look so Jaida couldn't have really won. Then with the sewing look, Gigi made a full garment and then accessorised it unlike sticking balls to a corset. I'm not saying this should automatically make her win but in a close decision this gives her a big advantage because it was in fact a sewing (not hot-gluing) challenge. She had to put in the extra effort to make garment. I loved Jaida and Nickys looks, but they just did a better job of sticking balls to a corset than Aiden and had better concepts; like Gigi Crystal actually made a dress herself and accessorised it beautifully but her first 2 looks were nothing compared to the looks of the top 3 in that challenge. Snatch game: This has to be the most obvious win of hers. She could have taken the easy route and done a character that is generally considered to be funny (like Jackie and Jaidas choices), but instead she took a risk and was able to be hilarious as a robot. It just shows that Gigi takes risks that pay of. Playing a naturally hysterical character like Cardi B is an easier way to get laughs. Madonna Rusical: This was not a singing challenge, and if it was Jan wouldn't have necessarily won because Sherry sang very well herself. It's a Madonna rusical; Gigi embodied Madonna more than Jan through her facial expressions and performance. And I'm afraid the fact is in rusicals some parts are winning parts whilst others are not (happens in every season). Each part has pre-choreographed parts and Gigi ended up with a part with some of the most challenging and difficult choreography. Jan had good vocals but her part was just forgettable in nature, and she was just Jan singing and dancing, she didn't give off the character as well as Gigi did in my opinion. Regarding the runway, not saying I agree but runways often have little effect on the placement of queens unless they're being nitpicky (or it's a runway challenge). Gigi did go out in a bikini yes. But it was a runway based off of the looks of Michelle. That was Michelle's look. Michelle isn't eleganza, she's tacky let's be real. The judges probably appreciated the less obvious choice she made and the nail gag seemed to excite them. I mean if runways were so important then Heidi shouldn't have been in the top for the improv challenge as her Pinnochi-hoe was a mess imo, and Sherry and Widow wouldn't have won (and been high respectively) in the gays anatomy episode as their looks weren't anywhere near as good as some other looks. The rumix: So in this challenge, I think Jackie was the no.1 overall (everything she did, but her lyrics were amazing in particular), but she was going to be eliminated regardless cause her track record was inferior to the other queens - she didn't even reach Crystal's score whilst having 3 mini challenge wins. Now, the difference between this and the rusical is that here they aren't being marked on how they embody someone else, they're meant to be themselves here. Due to this, things like singing/dancing etc. would naturally have a higher weighting in the judges critiques (and they had to write their own lyrics, it's a completely different task to a rusical). Jaida and Crystal had bad voices. Sherrys rumix look was shit and so were her lyrics. Gigi had good lyrics (not as good as Jackie tho), her and Sherry sang the best, she danced well, her slide was memorable (just like Crystal's lift, those 2 had the best choreo imo) and whilst her look wasn't the best it wasn't the worst. But overall in each category I think Gigi did the best after Jackie. And btw, if Crystal or Jaida won this challenge whilst Jackie did the best, I doubt anyone would have complained about that...
