I hear ya, Jamie. I’ve struggled with paying bills while working my butt off for over 40 years. I now realize that I’ll never have something anywhere close to this luxurious, but I can afford a small above ground pool, some acacia wood tiles (found on clearance) and some Home Depot tropical plants. Then I upped my game by building my own tiki hut with treated pine logs from Farm and Fleet, and some bamboo and Mexican thatch. It’s definitely NOT this guy’s backyard, but it’s good enough for me.

@@lauraweiss7875 That's great to hear! We hope to one day have a pool - even an upbove ground pool would be nice - anything to cool off in during the hot/humid summer! We're in Pennsylvania so to spend a fortune to use a pool for only 4 months isn't something I want to do, nor can afford to do. I hope things could be different financially different but at the end of the day I have a home, cars, a great family, good health & have food on the table for my family/kids - some people would love to just have that. I'm blessed with what I have & will always be thankful for what i have. I hope you have a great day!

@@jamie-r2034 To be completely honest this backyard isnt even for the one percent, its for the 0.1 percent. Im in Jersey myself and we dont even have 4 months of pool weather, its really closer to 2 honestly. In our market a normal inground pool costs 150k this guy got out of state contractors to redo his whole yard, it cost more than most homes in Jersey. Im happy for them and hope they enjoy it, but we cant judge our lives and accomplishments by these standards. You are blessed and Im glad that you know it. Providing for/having family and friends is the real mark of wealth, not if we can give them a tropical grotto in the North lol.

You can visit a resort for a weekend, breakfast included, lazy river and you spend 1% of what this family spend in maintenance. Its not only building the pool..its the maintenance that cost money. I hope my idea and advice help you to enjoy pools like that minus the cost.

@Hope oh for sure! I take my family/kids to a private beach each year near Ocean City, MD and we have fun. Besides that week, we literally have to watch how much we spend for food, etc. If someone can afford this kind of setup, they probably don't have to worry about much else. Lol. Good for them though. I love seeing people succeed in life & enjoy what they want to do. I hope it can happen to me someday too, until then, I'll continue to spray myself with my hose in the yard when it gets hot. Haha!

My brother lives in Florida and knows a few people who got pools put in from Lucas. They have had multiple issues with them and one even had to bring in another company to fix it. He does good looking pools for t.v., but that's it.

I need a bridge for my fire pit in the middle of my pool. I love the one in this video. Maybe even a draw bridge style. The seats in the water is awesome but I imagine since they are not totally submerged, I feel they may get too hot to sit on. I wouldn't want to have to splash water in the seat every time it gets hot. Otherwise, this job is amazing! Well done. If you have advice for my bridge, let me know.

@@jordanbiird Its very hard to do it Yourself but you can do it part by part... My backyard idea was around $400k ..So I started myself , diferent contractors for each part needed. Its hard because there is always something else to fix (it never ends!) So far i had spent $180k and maybe with another 50k I will be done..still is under $400k but its a headache do it per part.

Nice although there are nicer ones he’s done. Choice of wood and exteriors are hopefully to the owners taste. Plus it probably would’ve made sense to make it more useable / safer into old age. One bad slip on that bridge in / out the jacuzzi and no one would want to go on that.

If - and I do mean IF - I get enough money to have a pool with a grotto, I would like a lounge/ seating area inside the grotto itself that you can either enter from the pool, or just walk to from a short tunnel underneath the waterfall/ water slide. A man can dream.

It looks beautiful, but there is no way I would be able to sit under those huge rocks and feel comfortable. I also wouldn't feel comfortable or relaxed leaning back up against the jagged rocks surrounding the spa.
