Fresh crappie is my favorite fish. Perch and walleye are both pretty close, in my opinion. Especially through the ice. It just seems that much more firm outta the freezing water.

Nice man. I went out last Saturday for a few hours during the cold front, only caught a few, but they were slabs, they’re getting big right now. Hey, what kind of jig heads are you using, looking for some good ones with sharp hooks.

Oh yeah, big slabs are abundant right now, it’s crazy! I have jig heads from Limits Tackle and Cam’s crappie hole! Both really sharp!

Cotton seed oil and peanut oil are both vegetable oils. You are correct that frying with them is not healthy. Pure lard would be healthier. Olive Oil and Avocado Oil are definitely the healthiest substitutes. They do, however, tend to smoke at higher temperatures, with Avocado having a higher threshold than Olive. All that being said, your oil still produces the best tasting tasting fish. Thank you and please leave a few slabosaurus for me...
@fishingbythenumbers Жыл бұрын
Yes in deed!! Ive used pure lard, it makes for a nice fry too, but peanut oil just taste better to me! Agreed on all the other comments too! I’ll leave you a few slabs, good luck out there and I appreciate you checking out the video! Thanks!!!!!

Man that first fish was a football!!!! Oh no-good SK blocked me off the page because I told him I will not spend my money to get in line for some jigs... but that doesn't hurt me at all...

Wish y’all could squash that, hate seeing two brothers at odds over something so small. And I understand not wanting to wait, but it is a one man show over there, and I understand how that goes too. He makes a good jig and I tear up the crappie on his baits as you saw in this video lol so I don’t mind the wait and I always like to support small business! But that’s just me and everyone’s situation is different! All I ask is let’s try to keep it cordial in the comments, cuz I got love and respect for everybody my man including you and them! Plus my kid be reading these lol!!!

Bro, you got the recipe, but the only thing missing in that dry fry batter is a little AP flour (1/4cup to every 1cup of meal) and lemon pepper! Try it man, and lemon pepper will change the game to where you'll never buy batter every again. Also, dry your fillets on paper towels, then dredge them in an egg wash and the batter will stick to and season the fish better than anything you can buy at a restaurant. Please try it, and enjoy!!!

Thank you! I will give it a shot and let you know!

@fishing by the numbers hey bro ! I’m a new subscriber and new to the area was wondering if you could tell me where I can launch from to fish luces bayou !
@fishingbythenumbers Жыл бұрын
What’s up Jose? There is a launch off Huffman-Cleveland road called Ponderosa. Idk where you’re coming from, but if coming from 59, you would take 1960 east across the lake, and turn left down FM 2100, and then another left down Huffman-Cleveland road. The launch is on the right just before you cross the bayou! See you out there man!
