This takes me back to our old rehearsal room at Pepper Mill, Wigan. We had room 16 and would listen to the band opposite us practice, I remember they had a carpet in there & lots of guitars…that was The Verve.

It really is. They were easily the best band on the planet in their prime. Even towards the end of the reunion they were absolutely on fire again....then poof.

I wish there was more material available of Nick improvising. He comes up with mesmerising, ethereal and then heavy and dark themes. I just really want more of the music only he can create.

Nick is insanely unique and his implementation of effects, the Mesa boogie he mentions early on is a favourite amp of mine too. But the way he has this guitar customised to be efficient for effects. I’ve always been more classic and not been a user of effects or pedals but his way is insanely interesting.
