Anthony sounding like he's not just remarkably in tune but that he's pushing himself... Flea making his case for best rock bassist of all time on this album. In terms of sheer technical skill (which he has in spades) there are many better than him but his songwriting chops and ability to create memorable hooks and melodies is simply unmatched- in a class of his own. This song is like being "under the bridge" for me...I can not get enough! Yes, yes, before everybody starts jumping on me, I am quite aware of the seriousnes of the subject matter in Under The Bridge and Anthony's struggle with addiction. I'm well aware because I too struggled with drug addiction for many years. But once I overcame it, I decided never again to give it the weight it bore on my soul for years, and so now I make light of it. It's kind of my way of giving addiction a mental slap.👋 I'll always be serious about if though if ever anybody needs my help with their own struggle. Now back to the SONG..its fucking amazing, and the RHCP have done it again, and on quite a bit different scale even! If I sound surprised I'm not, I just imagine others maybe! 🤘🙂
