Miro doesn't follow any well-known WYSIWYG architecture pattern for GUI, and the charts drawn can't be exported in a revisable form - you can only export as PDF or jpeg/png. I also can't draw C4 architecture diagrams in Miro. Besides exporting as SVG, Lucidchart has an Office add-in that not only exports its charts in revisable format, but you can actually link it into Word or PowerPoint, and change it in Lucidchart and it gets updated in Office. When you have an organisation all drawing lots of diagrams using Miro and you cannot export them, aren't you very beholden to Miro? Even docx is an open format these days. Furthermore, I can come to KZbin and find tones of videos on how to use Lucid Chart, and that is helpful too

Hello, do you have any info on how Lucidchart diagrams can be updated automatically in Word/PDF? I thought it wouldn't update automatically.

Also, Lucid let’s you save your diagrams in vsdx format, which is the Microsoft Visio format. In corporate settings, it also integrates with SharePoint, so you can save your charts as files in folders, and make use of your org’s access control settings in SharePoint. Usually, people find it hard enough to tighten up their security with their SharePoint (or Google Drive, or DropBox, or whatever), and then you also have to deal with Miro’s proprietary storage where there is not even a clearly visible folder structure🤦♂️

I think a more accurate comparison would be between lucidSPARK and Miro, as those two tools seam very similar. LucidSpark is a separate product form LucidChart, all under the Lucid umbrella. I'm a Lucid user and Miro seems very similar to LucidSpark. I pay for both lucid products, and I hate that I have to pay for both, but both have very different use-cases. I'm intrigued by @M Chao comment about exporting into office products. Never tried this but sounds very interesting.

very useful comparison between the two. I prefer Lucid because it has a lot of templates. But Miro has a better user interface. Notes: in both tools, you need to buy the license to use the BPMN diagram.

They both seem great. I like the extensiveness of Lucid but the simplicity of Miro. I'm also interested in what Apple Freeform has to offer once available.

I like Miro just a little bit more because of the collaboration tools (eg., timer with music, voting capabilities)
