What's wrong with this world is that they will never like music that makes them think or doesn't contribute to escapism. That's why music that talks about money, hoes, drugs, and other methods of escaping and meaninglessness, nonsensical, glorified, empty, fluff is so popular. Because it doesn't make you think. It's all a big distraction. That's the sacrifice that artists make that want to talk about real sh*t, but would you rather make millions of dollars or imact millions of people. Sometimes you can do both, but it's very very difficult and it's not common. Obviously Lucidious has made his choice so it will take him longer because it seems like promoters in media don't really want music that provokes thought, self-reflection, compassion, etc. They want to promote a nation of people who are distracted, confused, chasing after meaningless things that they believe will bring happiness but that make them so sad that they turn to prescriptions or anything to numb out and keep working, distanced from one another, divided, selfish, desensitized. ...not music that makes you think, feel, hope, etc.

Man the weirdest thing happened to me last night while I was listening to this. When it got to the lyrics “Caught in the middle of silence” it was like time froze.
