Fun fact: The Heavy Woolies is the name of the real-life band that showrunner Ildy Modrovich was the lead singer of before transitioning to screenwriting. Really liked Candy...💖

as lucifer can't lie, he really married Candy. In fact he mentioned at the end that divorce is quite expensive. Lucifer did not think how he was hurting Chloe's feelings, because in his mind it is much worse for Chloe to be manipulated by God, and Lucifer truly believes that the feelings that Chloe may have towards him are a lie manufactured by God. The point is, Lucifer should have stayed away from Chloe, but he can't. When Lucifer told Linda that he missed his work, the truth is that he missed being with Chloe. Lucifer has been in love with Chloe for a long time, but he really became aware of it recently, and unfortunately he does not know what empathy means, so it is impossible for him to put himself in Chloe's place to realize how much he is hurting her.

I'm sure most of the people watching the show had the same reaction as me to Lucifer believing Chloe's feelings are not being real. I think part of that is, that he doesn't trust God at all and believes his father would manipulate him in this way without hesitation. But to me, the main reason is that Lucifer just can't believe that Chloe (or anyone else for that matter) would ever love him for himself! His self esteem is really low in that regard. And he didn't have the greatest experiences in the past. God banishing him, his mother not helping him (at least that what he believed happened for so long), his brothers and sisters also just standing by watching it happen. And if we take in the biblical version of events, than Michael himself driving him out of heaven....a lot of stuff happened to make him believe that no one is on his side... Sorry for that long comment....XD went a bit off the rails....

@@jessreacts he prefers to believe that it's all God manipulation, that to face the fact that he feels unworthy of Chloe's love. I don't want to spoil anything, but he will need a lot of.theraphy

I did not like this episode very much, until the last scene, when I knew the marriage was fake. :) The relationship between Lucifer and Chloe is not the whole show, but it's an extremely important element of the show. I don't want to spoil things for you, so I won't say what happens with that relationship. But it's fun (and sometimes torture) to watch.

I can see their relationship being very important in this, because Chloe makes Lucifer feel so many things he never did before. To me the main part is about Lucifer discovering humanity and what it means to be human. Which at times also makes you reflect on how you yourself deal with certain situations and feelings. And even if they never end up being together, I would be totally fine with their friendship. Because they have that connection either way. Whether its romantic or platonic.

@@jessreacts I agree with you. Because Lucifer seems so human, we sometimes forget that he isn't, and that he doesn't understand human emotions and relationships. He is a being that is thousands of years old, but he is like an adolescent learning about how to relate to people and be a man for the first time. It's one of the things that gives Lucifer a vulnerability that draws you to him. And over the course of six seasons of the show, and this is not a spoiler, we see the amazing character development in Lucifer, and that is fun to watch.
