I was born in 1964. I remember when this song came onto the radio, my mother would pick me up and dance around the room holding me. I played this song at her funeral.

When I was 12 I went to school dances on Friday nights from 7-10 and this song Blue Velvet was a favorite slow dance amd I remember dancing with Joey Brooks and he dressed like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever way before that time in 1967 and he was very handsome and charming and thats where I'm at when I hear this song!💒💝💒

She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet was the night Softer than satin was the light From the stars She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet were her eyes Warmer than May her tender sighs Love was ours Ours a love I held tightly Feeling the rapture grow Like a flame burning brightly But when she left, gone was the glow of Blue velvet But in my heart there'll always be Precious and warm, a memory Through the years And I still can see blue velvet Through my tears She wore blue velvet But in my heart there'll always be Precious and warm, a memory Through the years And I still can see blue velvet Through my tears (Blue velvet)
