Yes, it is the 1st one aired but... the "pilot" is also the episode that determines if a show will air beyond the one first episode. Many shows have been cancelled after the pilot aired because it just didn't successfully impress, whether it be because the feedback was far more negative than positive and/or the number of viewers didn't meet the criteria for a show to go any further. Essentially if it's a good pilot with a high viewer rate and/or has excellent feedback, the rest of the season goes forward. Much like how the success of the take off of an airplane and successfully getting into flight smoothly, falls to the pilot who must do it so well, that the rest of the flight is then able to go from start to finish wonderfully.

Pretty sure God created him and Lucifer has a purpose (which is to guide the evil souls to the underworld). This is an awesome interpretation of the Devil if you look at it from a deeper perspective, not just take what preachers say for fact "the devil is out to devour your soul and shall force you to give in to your inner demons" and blah blah blah. The show also points out that the Devil (also one of God's creations) isn't just the embodiment of evil.

Also it's based off of DC/Vertigo comics interpretation of Lucifer Morningstar (who scales in power to Michael, who can stomp Spectre IE the embodiment of God's Wrath). He also has a daughter. It'd be more fruitful to complain to the people who made the comics this is based off of (lol), so enjoy that while we enjoy the show. :D

I had really hoped that all these raging fundamentalists in this comment section would realize that in this, Lucifer Morningstar is nothing more than a character created for a fictional universe, and this is not intended to be about actual Christianity or Christian lore. FICTION, people, you know what it means? Anyway, Lucifer's "You don't have to stay anywhere forever." in the comics really touched me. He had one of the firmest set roles in the universe, apart from the Endless. But like Destruction he left his post and stood above the expectations of everyone else. That's a good message and something I can actually apply to my own life.

It's not because the devil is portrayed as a good person, which also makes me upset but because they lie so incredibly much. Cain was basically Satan and was trying to kill his brother Abel. So Satan wanting Cain dead is syntax error. So much I know for sure. Then the Morningstar idea which is very old especially in the catholic church. He is the Son of the Morning or Morningstar, big difference (KJV, only reliable translation). 1 Thessalonians 5:5 "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness."
