On my recent road trip, I visited the gravesite of actress LUCILLE BALL at Lake View Cemetery in Jamestown, New York.
Ball is probably best remembered for her role as Lucy Ricardo on the classic 1950s tv sitcom I LOVE LUCY, one the most iconic tv shows in American television history.
I also visited her childhood home and memorial statue and memorial park in Celeron, New York.
Thanks for joining me today on another raod trip down memory lane and for sharing the memories!

Our biggest star. She set the table for all who came after her. The first woman to not only own a studio but run it. On the screen she had no equal. Again, our biggest star. Thank you for doing this.

I visited the house, statue, museum and bakery in 2002. Lucy was still buried in Forest lawn Hollywood Hills at the time. And there was an even worse statue that was carved out of wood. It was hideous. I am sure they got rid of it. Everybody hated it. The new one is beautiful.

Thank you Steve for all this information. None of it had I ever seen or heard about before. The 2nd statue is identicle to her. The 1st statue, the mouth looks all wrong for Lucy so that makes it not favor her at all.

In the 58 years that I've lived, the deaths of just three celebrities have brought tears to my eyes: Don Knotts, Johnny Carson and Lucille Ball. Lucy was so omnipresent that she seemed to be part of the family. In my opinion, the second Lucy statue is much better! (By the way, Chatauqua is pronounced Chaw-Talk-Waw.)

We didn’t watch Lucy all that much, but my favorite episode was the Candy Factory Episode. Every time I watch it I just bust out laughing, simply because I have 4 Friends that I could see doing that with me. It just gets to that “funny bone” and the laughter starts! Thank you for making this video. Lucy was my favorite comedian. I remember watching the reruns but was the first time I watched "I Love Lucy" program as a child in the 60's. I remember I was learning my A,B,C's and would have to get them correct twice before I could watch her show. Great memories. I agree that the first statue was scary but was a fan of the that episode. Lucy is the only celebrity I can remember in my 67 years that I blubbered when she passed away. I was lucky enough to meet her and Desi when I was a kid and we lived in southern california. I was a cute little toe head who looked like Dennis the Menace. Now I just look like a menace lol. I've been to Jamestown but not for many years, I have distant relatives there. Yes the new statue is definitely a huge improvement!, The old one looked like Ernest Borgnine in drag hahaha.
