There are many singers instantly recognizable by the first note out of their mouth. There are only a handful of those artists who, with one note, have the ability with that one note to rip your heart out. Emmylou. Allison. Janice. Gillian. Linda. Patsy. Lucinda. I love them all, but Lucinda's distinctive vocal tone, lyrics, phrasing, and soulful delivery is something special in this old country boy's humble but correct opinion.

I’ve went without eating & missed supper to see her. Another time had the hell beat outta my car in a giant hail storm in Knoxville. The same one that beat her bus up and frightened her half to death. Always been a GIANT FAN of hers. Always will!
