If it is Liz then Jake is exposed. So I see it as Jason trying to keep Jake secret. Liz explained it. However, I do think Lucky picked Liz over Sam here.

Jason & Sam are broken up and Elizabeth is the mother of his child, who he as convinced himself he is in love with. Jason used to be a one woman man..... Elizabeth and Jake are the priority :/

Is he willing to let his mom go to jail for Elizabeth. What did she do to him? Elizabeth don't mind him sending him mom to jail so she can save herself. Sam would never allow him to do that even if Monica was guilty.

Which Sam proved by speaking up for her in court. What gets me is that we *know* if Liz had been guilty he would have found a way to cover it up, Monica had to own up to it and take the consequences.

Seems to me there is delusion and viciousness on both sides. But as many mistakes as Liz made, they weren't made from a source of vengeance and vindictiveness..... and virtually everything Sam did was exactly from that place.

True, watching Jake get kidnapped, hiring fake gunmen and telling Carly about Jake was totally wrong. What I don't get is why she doesn't get any credit for owning up to her mistakes, for having risked her life to save Jake. Let's face it that incident was not on her! She was not the cause yet she still risked her life. Liz conveniently forgets that when she throws Jake's kidnapping in her face. Not that one negates the other, but she apologized and expressed remorse countless times. She has owned up to the fact that she did something very wrong and has expressed the wish to go back and do it differently. Sam slept with Ric and was treated like the town whore. Liz on the other hand seems to never take responsibility for what she does. She slept with Jason because of Lucky (a tit for tat), her sleeping with Nik, her fiancé's brother was not her fault, she changed the DNA results because of what Sam did 4 years earlier (vindictive). She kept Jason's identity from him for 7 months and was quite happy to have Danny grow up without his father while said father "adopted" (which he would have had to do anyway because he gave up all paternal rights I think) Jake along with Cam and Aiden. She was more than happy for him to be a father to her children but not Danny. And when talking to Robin about keeping Jason's identity from him she readily and without shame or remorse admitted that if given the chance she would do it all over again. Yet she still blamed Sam for Jason leaving her. For me it's about owning your actions and trying to learn and grow from them and unfortunately the writers aren't letting Liz do that.
