there is a place you can stand on the left of the boss where the only real attacks that appear there are the random circles they place. in some cases the bug cant reach you making it possible to just kill it before it explodes and stuff. you also wont be hit by the laser thing that it shoots that does way too much freakin damage. its that relatively big black piece that is right next to the edge, if you stand on the VERY end of it. that should do the trick
