Hey man, love the content I cant wait to get my side funds up and start working on my 66 I inhereted. If i could suggest you maybe getting a lapel mic? like one of the "Rode" ones I have to crank my audio to hear you sometimes. Keep up the awesome work, your format is amazing and SOO imformative.

Thanks man! I actually do have a DJI mic now. I started using it after this video. You can for sure tell the quality difference on the hands on stuff. I had a good mix for voice over or behind the camera stuff but not for installation. But now I do!

Will your simple guide work if I've pushed my cross member forward 1"?
@SIMPLE.C1010 ай бұрын
Yes, it should work just fine since I just used it on control arms that were an inch forward.

@SIMPLE.C10 ah ok, when I get my shop truck back out I need to cut the inner fenders, and pull the bed. Those fender covers look nice also

First of all, l enjoy watching and learning from your vids. I have a 58 GMC 100 Fleetside and want to bag it but I'm not sure what I need or where to start. I'm curious if you'd be able to give me direction.?
@SIMPLE.C1010 ай бұрын
Thanks so much. A 58 is tough. You have to start with deciding what to do with the front end. You need to get a dropmember or a mustang 2 front end to replace the leaf springs. The rest you can go with a basic notch and four link. Those are the main things to get then you can run my simple.c10 air ride kit.
@dangright727910 ай бұрын
@SIMPLE.C10 Thank you for the quick response. Good news, the front is independent already and has 5 link in the rear. It has the Ford rear diff. I can send pics of it to make it easier.

With the bonnet closed , doesn't the hinge hit the top of the tyre ?
@SIMPLE.C1010 ай бұрын
It doesn’t. Very close though when aired out but you would never drive it at that height.

What length are the hood struts??
@SIMPLE.C1010 ай бұрын
I’m not at home right now to measure. You can measure your hood bracket to where mine mounted in on the video to get something close. I’ve seen a lot of people try different shocks and most have not worked well.

@SIMPLE.C1010 ай бұрын
As soon as I finish the tie rods I will answer your question and post the video. I have not completed that step yet. I have to install my power steering gear box before aligning the truck. Thanks for your patience.

Is 3” to big of a drop spindle on a 79? Will it hit steering components?
@SIMPLE.C1010 ай бұрын
2.5 is all you need. 3 inch is fine if you run bigger wheels.

@@SIMPLE.C10 Do I remember correctly that you use the 2-1/2” drop spindles with the 22” transport wheels?
@Rg_rider1310 ай бұрын
So Travis what size are the rims I see on episode 4 I have 20” 5.5 backspacing and I rub on the inside lockout turn I put 22” and they rub so I’m stuck and the tie rods I know they have to be modified to work can you give me any advice
@SIMPLE.C1010 ай бұрын
Currently have 22s with 5.5BS. My tie rods did fine but my wheels are hitting the control arms so I’m in the process of trying the factory geometry arms and will post an update when I find out. I recorded the tie rod stuff but it was pretty easy. I just twisted both sides in some until I got them even.
@Rg_rider1310 ай бұрын
I needed new tie rods anyway so I bought a set from POL online they work great , I really like to see how you workout the rim rubbing I need to come up with solution are the factory arms the choppin block one let me know please Thanks
@SIMPLE.C1010 ай бұрын
For sure will! I’m hoping just factory geometry Choppin blocks arms work. I’ve been in touch with them and we are figuring it out. Thanks for watching!
