Lucky tells Luke that Liz is "The Best Thing That Ever Happened" 2-24-99

After taking Lulu ice skating, Lucky and Nikolas run into Luke on the docks. Luke asks Lucky about his Valentine's Day. Lucky tells him that Elizabeth is the best thing that every happened, and not just to him.

You know what though...it's supposed to be awkward, half of the pair is very confused. I see moments of the old spark. I agree, it's not there in the capacity that it was, but I don't think it can be completely ever again..they were kids, there was a difference innocence about them, that can't be now. The writers don't even write stories like this or similar with the young crowd now. They don't write love stories like this anymore on any soap. Given the right lovestory, they could do it!

I don’t think the writers currently in the last 10 years, and have actually known how to write love stories, they don’t have any idea how to do character development... pay attention to backstory.... they don’t pay attention to the history of the character, the Legacy... also the writers constantly changing and that’s the big problem

I always wonder because Luke and Laura were such a pivotal powerful romantic couple, full of incredible trauma if that was the goal of the writers wanted with Lucky and Elizabeth... sadly they just destroyed them, and I’m not sure if it was because Jonathan didn’t come back and we got other actors to portray lucky.. or the writers just don’t know how to write a love story... because they could’ve made it in their adult life, they just would have to be able to be more patient with each other, and lucky would have take off his rose colored glasses.

JJ and TG were the best father/son pair. He never had that connection with JY and GV IMO. When JJ came back in 2009 you could see that they were working their way back to that connection that was lost with the other actors who portrayed Lucky.
