Ems last 2 albums has more intelligent bars, lyrical complexity, and difficult flows than all his other albums combined. His first albums where more of a surprise slap in the face thats why he would use much edgier content with easier bars. His middle albums were made in his drug addicted depression years where he was also busy raising youg adults and trying to deal with a fame that left him alone in a box. And now he's actually sober and really working on his craft and it shows. He's sales are so crazy especially with 0 radio play and 0 advertising. He just dropped albums out of the blue. So I would disagree. His music still "SLAPS" in someways harder than ever b4

The part where the people are copying Joyner and Eminem represents where the rap game is at. Mumble rappers copy top artist just to get views or whatever. The whole song represents Joyner who is coming up and Eminem who has been in the game but still doesn’t get the proper Recognition he deserves. Em songs are always about wordplay, metaphors, internal rhyming and double and triple entendres. Every now and then he releases some to show off his lyrical abilities like rap god and Godzilla to remind everyone he can spit super fast. To say his songs don’t have meanings is comical. “Darkness” was about as heavy and meaningful as you can get. Not many rappers would touch on that subject. Em has always been a boundary pusher. Em is the goat. Period. How many other rappers have been at the top of the game for three decades?

Check out Bad Meets Evil, Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" go hard, their album is amazing imo. Also the hooded figures were other rappers just copying anything and everything to stay relevant, but they couldn't copy the fast rap, so they got blown away, when Eminem stopped the fast rap they were able to go back to their copying ways. Pretty much him saying that you cant just imitate true talent, you either have it or you don't. Kamikaze was a dope album, I'd definitely suggest you listen to Chloraseptic Remix and then Catterpillar before you listen to any more Kamikaze though. As a bonus Eminem gives Hopsin a shout out in Fall, there's a video of Hopsin reacting to that btw, pretty wholesome and amazing imo.

( It's wired cuz in any and every other type of music the best is always top selling.) It was the same person n rap till em became the top selling. But I think he is better now than ever hit rhyme and delivery and wordplay second to none the only.
@donnietrowell31244 жыл бұрын
This is thing with Em. When he went mainstream he crossed over as Slim Shady. Thats a double edged sword because all Slim Shady is is alter ego that allowed him to say whatever he wanted and didn't care what people thought. Marshall Mathers is him. With each album he matured to a certain extent. The Eminem Show was his more mature album. Marshall Mathers is a mix of Slim Shady and Eminem. The role out was brilliant because when you listen to The Eminem Show you start to realize your getting a mixture of Slim and Marshall and Eminem brought the more dramatic element. After he almost died he realized his influence in Hiphop was way bigger than he thought and he started adding the more personal songs that help his fans get through hard times. He switched up his style and added more ammo so he could reach a wider audience. His music took a hit largely in part because he decided to try to burry the Slim Shady style and he got attacked. Revival was actually a dope album, the hate came because the political Em came out and nobody cared. The message was good but the way he delivered it was the problem people had. Im not gonna say the album as a whole was great but the message was. He just delivered it in a way that was hard to listen to. The Kaepernick situation has been a huge influence on the world since it happened and the biggest goal was to get the high profiled white NFL players to speak up because they would have more influence than the blacks. Well Em is the biggest hiphop artist and you can't get higher than him especially in the white community. Well it got hate because its the total opposite of the way Em used to be. And thats where the other sharp part of the sword is. Em showed maturity, but that's not what people want from him so they bashed him until he went back. Most people just don't realize what it took for Slim to be Slim and drugs and alcohol was a huge factor. Hes sober now so he will never be the Slim of old. Thankfully the slightly watered down Shady is still 10× better than 90% of today's rappers lol

I have been an Em fan for long and I love the Em we had, and we have now. 2 years in, the hate on Em never stops lol. People today are all ears to rappers like the one's we know are at the top rn, which is something I don't understand why, but respect their taste, at the same time, it's them who proclaim themselves to be rapheads, yet don't pay no heed or minimum to the OG's which is quite funny cause they claim the rappers, who are up today, I'm not taking names cause it's gonna be a direct hit to their fans, to be GOAT's. I'm sorry but it's actually impossible at this point to even par the lyrical ability to that of the OG's (Em, Nas, Snoop, 50, Dre, Pac, Big, DMX, etc) for the rap game today, cause this has become more like Pop Rap, which got a sound to it, but def not good in terms of who I grew up listening to.
