Solid honest reaction my dude. :) This isn't his best work. Having said that, kudos to him for being ballsy AF! Having the guts to go over the rap track of the year performed by two of the most capable rappers alive deserves some kind of applause. I feel he didn't go into this with a specific gameplan. I reckon he'll probably look back on this one thinking he should've concentrated on hitting ultimate in-the-pocket delivery working like a metronome with regard to syllable count with the beat, with a few bars of the amped-up speed in the middle for variety, & with 3 or 4 makes-you-smile punchlines. Instead there were too many different flows to the point where it all felt a bit disjointed. Marks for passionate delivery as always tho, & he is always relatable & 100% real in what he speaks on. :) It's interesting that even on this beat, where it doesn't really fit, you can sense his instinct to get melodic with it. As an aside, I reckon his best work will be more sung than spat, believe it or not. He has a crazy-good ear for creating solid melodic vocal lines over chord progressions. Which is eye-opening when you consider he's from a humble small-town NJ background that didn't include any expensive musical tuition or vocal coaching. #NaturallyMusical This isn't for a reaction (poor quality cellphone recording from his first live show), but just for your own knowledge to see a very different side to him.... take 3mins to watch this & tell me he couldn't knock out million-selling singles if he wanted to (I'll fight you on it!) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZuUgaKGhq-ql7M The best remix to show young Austin ripping a track like he can is his Gucci Gang (nothing motivates like an unhinged two-timing ex & her new fella telling you what you're allowed to rap about apparently!)
