Sometimes its better in Japanese. No need to dumb down the dialog for the kiddies to be able to handle things like death and complex morals, even if its good for them and would build character. Thank you for this.

the music in this is absolutely incredible, especially the strings while Leo is stranded up on the rock

update: a year later and i imported both symphonic soundtracks for this show from Japan. 100% worth it; the music is beautiful and it sounds so much better in full quality (and in stereo!)

If he collapsed and the cheetahs scrambled up there I would teleport there and be like: *Whats up with you? Ya wanna catch these paws?*

Think the ‘89 English dub also got cancelled since the tapes sold really poorly. I’d be curious to see how they’d handle other episodes, hehe~

The English dubs also did a hatchet job on the story, in an effort to make the show suitable for all ages.

3:54 i recognize that voice. it's Kazuyuki Sogabe(kunzite in sailor moon, Huey in fist of the north star and Gemini Saga and Gemini Kanon in saint seiya).

Could I ask where did you get this? I’ve been trying to get all the japanese episodes with eng subs but I can’t find them anywhere :(
@Luckykats3 жыл бұрын
You can find Kimba episodes on Nyaa. Search for "Jungle Emperor 1989" and "Jungle Taitei 1989" at that site, though you'll need a P2P file-sharing program to download. There's also a torrent for episodes 16-42 by Leozukago on archive org. (though the ability to stream episodes there was taken down.) If you get a raws japanese-only file, then you can put downloaded subtitles on using the free video-player program called VLC. Though that's alittle more complicated. Leozukago on archive org uploaded text-only subtitle files to download to put on videos. (By naming both the video file & .srt subtitle file the same name (while in the same folder), VLC will play the subs automatically.) Also sorry for the super late reply. KZbin doesn't notify me of every comment unfortunately. :(

@@nightynight07 You're welcome! Glad you love Kimba tooo. This is my favorite series because I love 80s animation and it has nice atmosphere. If you're having any troubles downloading let me know. I don't have all the episodes, but I'll be leaving my peer-to-peer downloader up for you. :3

I watched kimba in 1968 and 1969 before school . Does anyone remember the original lyrics to the trailer as the kimba stories began ?

If his name is Leo and his dad’s name is Panja, then who’s Kimba? I thought THIS lion was Kimba. I’m. So confused.
@protowaveАй бұрын
almost every character name was changed for the Western releases of various Tezuka Productions media outisde of Japan. Panja was changed to Caesar, Leo was changed to Kimba, etc. etc. so Kimba was a name that was invented by American localizers; it doesn't exist in the original releases of this series.

This is Kimba (named Leo in Japan) from an episode never released in English from the TV series: "The New Adventures of Kimba the White Lion". (Known as Jungle Taitei (1989) in Japan.)
