The goal is to get free double downs and splits. I believe they allow up to 4 free splits so the sweet spot would be getting splits and then being able to double down on them. Any pair minus face cards you can split. It’s a fun game, the side bet payout is a little low, at my casino for 6 coins it’s 300-1 and 7 coins is 1000-1. I’ve only hit 6 coins twice.

I was just in Puerto Rico and it’s crazy how much better the rules are! Blackjack pays 3/2, you can surrender (as long as dealer isn’t showing an ace), dealer stands on soft 17! The casino had 5 free bet tables and just one regular!

Or can you decline based on what the dealer is showing? E.g. if you get a pair of 4s and dealer has a 10, normally you wouldn’t split. Just curious how it works in this game. You get a free double on the initial 2 cards if they total 9 - 11. You get free splits except for 10s. For example if you got 2 twos, you could split for free and then if you got an 8 as the next card you would have 10 so you could free double as well.

This is a bit late but for free bet blackjack , because of the push 22 rule , basic strategy is different to traditional blackjack. For example 12 vs 4 and 13 vs 2 are both hits on “real money” and 14 vs 2 is a hit on “gold coin money”.

I think most of your free bet decision s are ok except for the split. For those, I would follow the strategy card. Like splitting 4 or 2 against a 10 is a poor decision unless your side bet is the same amount as the main bet. You could make this game simpler for yourself by not making the free bet side bet.

That’s not how the peek window works. When showing a 10 the dealer only knows if he has an ace or not. When showing the ace and he turns the card sideways it only shows if he has a 10 or not He doesn’t see the actual card or value of the card
