Hi you, amazing video! The flowers you are talking about I believe are daffodils and they stand for the British colonial power. This originated with the Poem “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” by William Wordsworth. It was very popular and therefore daffodils became kind of a symbol of the English writing world, education and so on. I hope I explained myself well enough.
