Lucy Cancer Update: Into Radiation we go ❤️‍🩹

There’s a lot to be said but I’ll let the video speak as much as possible❤️‍🩹
Lucy has 4 types of cancer:
•Urinary Bladder Transitional Cell Carcinoma
•Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor w/Regional Lymph Node Metastasis
•Mast Cell Tumor
•Well-differentiated Hepatocellular Carcinoma
That’s a whole lot to say and so much for one dog to handle but that’s why Lucy truly is SUCH a fighter. She’s meant to be in this world and be a beacon of hope and light for others who see her triumph through this.
We are going in for Radiation right when we get back on June 7th and I will be driving her to LA every single day for 5 weeks until complete.
With the radiation treatment to the urinary bladder transitional cell carcinoma the doctors foresee her living out her full life expectancy of another few years. With having the best of the best keeping Lucy with us, comes the amount of funding it takes to do so. We ended up only being a few thousand short after the last go fund me but now the 20 rounds of radiation will be another $18,000.
I will pull it together somehow because I’d sell my soul to keep my girl alive.

Sweet Warrior Girl!! I love how much you love Lucy & how much she loves you, Tye!! I don’t give up on my fur-babies either. They are family! They always let us know when it’s their time, but until then we fight against all odds for them. Treatment will be a challenge, but Lucy & you will kick butt. Wish I could provide more help than positive thoughts, good vibes, love & asking people to help with the next GoFundMe!! (BTW: my beagle had a small Fibrosarcoma on the back of her neck that grew to the size of a tennis ball w/ a tail that went around the side. She also had a Hemangiopericytoma on the backside of a fluid filled cyst on her thigh. Luna, my current lemon, had two different types Liver cancer! One inside the other, neither her surgeon nor her oncologist had seen this happen before… EVER.)

Hallo Lucy. Here is kiara. I am 16. I had problems too. So my mom can't give you something as she has to pay a lot of bills for me. I am on a special diet , medications and a lot of stuff more. I have a youn brother (chowchow/chihuahua mix) he is not even 4 and very health. He just arrived. His dad passed away and he didn't had a home anymore. My mom saw him on Facebook and took him in. He thinks he is a big wolfdog, but he isn't not more than a big rat. But sssttt don't say it to him... he's just a baby 😂. And then we have the stranger in the house. We found her in the garden with her mom and siblings. Ow yeah it's a cat... she thinks she is the boss in the house... keep on dreaming girl... mom has a lot of troubles with her. Always sick. The vet came by for both her and me. She costed 150 euro... I only 30... and now she has to have medication too. She also has special food too... as she is so tiny. She has to get a bit bigger so her body can combat with all her diseases. She has cataids and sneezing disease. Although she had her shots and was neutered... it must be from her mom and siblings. My mom did them to the shelter. At that time I had 4 brothers also cats, but they behaved like dogs. Mom couldn't take so many extra mouth to feed. Anyhow, poppie that's her name, is 13 and she will be needing lots of medication. And me like I say I am 16... I was a shelterdog and the person that adopted me couldn't take me anymore. So my mom took care of me. I was 10 kilo to big... the only thing I did was sleeping and eating. My mom got me back to health. I am a staff/lab mix... I have good gen my mom said. I had a new knee and my mom had ro postpone her surgery. Because there wasn't money for the 2 of us. She wanted me to go first. From that day on I could run even faster then before... but then as my mom always playing with my nipples, she find out there was some granulation. And 2 month later it was as big as a pee. So run to my vet and got 2 nipples removed. I was very skinny at that moment. But with lots of love, I got true it. And now about 3 months ago, I got a stroke, and another one, and another one. I thought my life was over. I can't hear anymore and my sight isn't that good either. But these strokes made me so sick... but everytime I get better. And although we go for 1 minute walks. My mom want to get me the experience to have a walk... lol... she is fine... lol. Now she bought me a handcart. So we can go to the sea... if I am to tired, I can take a nap in the cart... So I hope Lucy, that you understand we can't donate. We have to take care with every cent spend. As poppie and me aren'tthat well and mom have to take care of us alone. And she cant work anymore as she is also sick. And we cant do what your dad do for you. I am happy for you that there are a lot of people who helps you out. So i hooe you dont mind we skip the donation part... mom cant afford it. I hope you are doing fine dear lucy. And that you have a healthy life ahead... at least a pain-free and more than a few years... so you can have a happy life with your dad. Thats what i mean to say. My mom is praying for you and i think about you all the time... Dear lucy you are like a sister to me. We even look alike... i wish you all the luck... Mom here: i had to write this letter from kiara to you. She cant write so she wispered in my ears what i had to write... i hope you don't mind I know what she was writing... I wish you all the luck and succes with the radiotherapy. And I am so sorry that we don't have the money to help you out. Thank you to all the people that has helped you. You are a wonderful dog...

I can absolutely sympathise regarding spiraling costs, having just had to pay around £1000 for a cut on my dog's leg: no idea how or where he got it, we just found him on his bed lying in a pool of blood. No blood anywhere else and his bed is a sofa... 🤷🏻‍♀️ But being on his ankle and him being a greyhound so no extra skin, it was a major operation to fix it - after hours of course! It took over a month for it to stop bleeding fully because hounds can have a blood clotting disorder. None of our past hounds had it, but of course he does. He was on antibiotics, clotting medicine and dressing changes every 3 days (they all add up in the bill because most, though not all, appointments were charged. Everything that was used, even the cotton wool, was charged for!) With us being in the countryside and the vet being in town, along with petrol costing about $9+ a US gallon, everything got expensive. But what do you do? He's our boy. Also having lost my last girl to bone cancer, I know how scary the C word is. It wasn't diagnosed until she went lame one day. Straight to the vet's and general anaesthetic for x-rays - which she stopped breathing under! They got her back, thankfully. But it was discovered that she'd had it for months, without a single symptom, and nothing could be done. They sent her home with good pain meds and she outlived their prognosis of a few weeks by an extra 2 months until that day came and she told me "no more, Mum". I hope your beautiful girl is improving by the day and will live without ever hearing that horrible word again. I can't afford much, but I will go to your GFM page. It's only a token (still getting over Buddy's bills) but it's as much to send my love and emotional support as anything else. Good luck with getting as much money in as you can. My dog was also 12 when she was first diagnosed with multiple types of cancers (lymphoma and mast cell tumors). The vets didn't give her more than 6 months. After multiple chemo treatments, we had to put her down after the cancer reached her brain unfortunately. However, she lived happily for more than 3 years after the first diagnosis, until she was 15+ years of age.
