Most excellent video, Lucy. I have seen you at the Mucky Duck many times over the years, the older guy with the long gray hair. I have also seen Eliza there many times. This is one of my many favorites of her songs, which I love to hear her sing, but you do an equally good job on it.

What a song! And what a performance by Ms Kaplansky -- beats both the Eliza Gilkyson original (no offense, she wrote the song), and the Ray Wylie Hubbard version. After all, "it's not something you control", right? What chord is on that note -- C#m?

I saw them together with John Gorka 3-4 years ago. Talked with them all for about 30 minutes. I don't think Eliza is into who does her stuff better. They are different flavors at the feast of their music.
